Man with worsening brain injuries has benefits slashed while Duncan Smith gets a knighthood [VIDEO]
You’re probably sick and tired of me banging on about the way the Tory government has been persecuting the sick and disabled – so I’ll hand you over to one of the victims.
Andy Nicholson runs a video blog under the alias ‘The Brain Damaged Baron’.
Doctors pronounced him lucky to survive a head-first fall down a partially-built stairwell in 1994.
The incident left him with a serious brain injury that means he is partially-sighted, has short-term memory loss, constant headaches, epilepsy and coordination issues, along with chronic fatigue.
These conditions have worsened over time but the Tories have twice pronounced him fit for work, in spite of medical evidence and, indeed, a court order.
Here he is to explain for himself:
It’s powerful stuff; it shows that the Department for Work and Pensions, under the Conservatives, is determined to gaslight people into accepting an unreasonable view that brain injuries can be healed, just because an unqualified assessor says so.
These people have to suffer their way through unnecessarily-complicated appeal procedures, simply to keep the small amount of money they need to survive.
Meanwhile, the man who made to possible for this government department to lie so blatantly and brutally, simply for the sake of holding on to a few farthings, has been awarded a knighthood.
If you live in the UK, you live in a crazed, corrupt country. And if you voted Tory – count yourself among the crazies.

No Mike, I am sick and tired of the way the Tories have persecuted the sick and disabled, you do bloody well right to keep “banging on” about it.
Unfortunately the majority of people just don’t care! I’m alright Jack attitude rules. But in saying that with what is coming regarding the potential dire consequences of Brexit all us ordinary folk will experience the cruelty of the tories and then I envisage attitudes will change. It is a sad reflection on our current state of society that mass negative monumental change is needed to make people wake up. I have difficulty understanding the lack of empathy and compassion for our fellow countrymen – the seeds of this dissent from common decency can be attributed to the start of Thatcherism.
It’s sickening how the conservatives are treating people in the UK who are disabled or sick who are on benefits and are poor I’ve been fighting the DWP for over four years I’ve been threatened with sanctions in the jobcentre and even over the phone I stuffered a spine injury while working and could hardly walk for over four months and I lost my job because of it. I was sent for a assessment and was found fit for work and scored zero points even my doctor and now the specialist at Newcastle rvi say iam unfit for work as I will need surgery it took me over four years to get a MRI scan the DWP keep messing me about with the court the DWP even sent the court the wrong paperwork last time forcing my case to be adjourned yet again even the judge said the way the DWP are treating me the way Iam is wrong and the one thing the DWP do not like is anybody fighting them because your also fighting the conservatives.
