Covid-19 delays review of PIP payments

How handy, for a government that likes to torment people with disabilities.

Those who are concerned they’re not receiving enough must wait for the Tory government to resume checking what they are receiving – at a time when the current payments are unlikely to be enough.

Disabled and vulnerable people waiting to hear if they are eligible for extra benefit payments are facing a further delay of three months.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has paused work on its long-running review connected to personal independence payments (PIP) due to the increased demand for financial support linked to the coronavirus outbreak.

Around 1.2 million claims for Universal Credit have been made in the last three weeks as people either lose their jobs or face increased financial pressure, stretching the DWP staff.

The delay decision is a further indicator of the secondary effects of the immediate action to respond to Covid-19.

This Site has already reported that carers are working harder and paying more in order to carry out their duties.

Both disabled people and their carers are being ground into the dirt – and no doubt the Tories will say, “It’s not us – it was the coronavirus!”

The government is a tyrannical beast and delights in persecuting their victims and this has been the same for hundreds of years with the Tories. They are arrogant beyond belief and believe like the gangsters they are that justice will never be served on them. I believe that they will face justice one day when their rule has been dismantled. History tells us that such scum eventually lose power and it can’t come soon enough.

What’s the betting that the DWP end up saying that because the elapsed time from the start of the review to when they start up again means that no conclusions can be made as evidence submitted on day 1 is so far out of date?
