Home Office chartered a plane to deport EU citizens during lockdown WITH NO SOCIAL DISTANCING

The Home Office: only a fool would believe its publicity material.

So much for the lockdown. So much for social distancing. So much for any suggestion that the UK’s Tory government is interested in fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

And so much for the lie that the “hostile environment” policy has ended.

The Home Office chartered a private plane to deport dozens of EU nationals during lockdown, despite government stay-at-home instructions stating that people should not fly unless it was essential.

The private jet, understood to be from Titan Airways, took off from Stansted last Thursday, 30 April. The flight to Poland was chartered at a time when air travel had fallen by 95%.

A woman on the flight said there were about 35 passengers, accompanied by around 40 to 50 Home Office escorts and plane crew.

The woman, who was placed into quarantine on her arrival in Poland, questioned whether it could be defined as “essential travel” and said it was impossible to adhere to physical distancing rules during the flight.

‘Safe just and tolerant society???’ What a joke – not – the fascist tories are laughing themselves silly at us because we are being duped! Even worse the fascist tories are deliberately transmitting the coronovirus by wasting huge sums of our public money on chartering a private plane to deport EU citizens!

Why didn’t the fascist tories all get on that plane and be deported to an uninhabited island??

How dare the arrogant callous fascist tories tell us to stay home when they brazenly break the lockdown and transmit the coronovirus! Also deporting EU citizens is not in the UK’s interests but it is in the interest of fascist toryism!

But…telling us to stay at home is the only bit that does make sense, if the majority of people abide by it. The idiots who are flouting the rules are putting us all at risk. There’s noticeably more traffic today and yesterday, and I can’t believe they are all making essential journeys.

It would be difficult if not impossible to maintain any sort of quarantine or health safety on a plane even if they were seated a few rows apart because the air conditioning re-circulates the same air that everyone is breathing, and you obviously can’t open a window! Perhaps a ship or ferry would have been safer? But then they would have to continue their journeys to wherever by road or train to their various countries after disembarking in Calais or whatever port, so either way would be less than ideal, or impossible.

The main question I want answering is why were there more home office officials than deportees on that plane?
