Coronavirus scrapbook: June 6
Every day This Writer trawls Twitter for items that may form the basis – or part of – an interesting story for This Site.
Currently I’m seeing far too many related to the Covid-19 pandemic for me to write about them all in a sufficiently in-depth way.
So I’m going to deposit a few of them on the site – just in case they become relevant to events in the future.
You may find them interesting too.
There’s no order to them, mind.

Labour refused to oppose re-opening the schools.
Another colossal, terminal failure of the only thing that matters here: leadership.
Why are they in politics? For what reason? If they won't oppose, what are they doing?
Oppose, or get out of the way for people who will. https://t.co/9KPB5e9qW1

This is an absolute kick in the teeth by BBC.
This DG will have no legitimacy, and will be over-seeing a corrupt, politicised propaganda machine which only survives by forcing citizens to pay for it against their will. https://t.co/6dN2MF6lGQ

Starmer's idea of opposition is to send someone a letter, not tell anyone about it, and then express mild regret when it's completely ignored.
Yeah that'll show 'em, killer.
Labour's finished.
Some kind of mass left movement now needed to shove them out of the way.

Hi @LAPDHQ
Is shooting unarmed disabled people in the face standard behaviour? It’s said he wasn’t even protesting.
Who gave the order? Are they facing criminal charges?

To be clear:
1) They resigned from the riot squad, not the department.
2) They weren’t protesting two of their own seriously injuring an old man—they were protesting the department punishing two of their own. https://t.co/QUgXxdvn5G

When the world realised Coronavirus was serious, they took action and prepared.
But Britain (England), responded by fundraising for Big Ben to bong, shortly before Johnson went on holiday for 12 days.
That’s why we are here now, and let’s not pretend otherwise.

Expect deaths announced by government to be fiddled in some way after mid-June.
If you think I'm being cynical, remember the Covid tests being counted twice (for each swab) and "numbers done" morphing into "capacity". Remember left & right gloves being counted as separate PPE… https://t.co/QFPHMC12mV

Trying to figure out how that 3D face covering would protect anyone. Air can’t pass through plastic, so would pass above and below it, with nothing to prevent droplets and the virus from being breathed in.
