Now we have a vaccine, Boris Johnson is messing with it. Hasn’t he done enough harm?

Only in Tory Britain would a government approve a vaccine, then ensure that people don’t get the doses they need.

The makers of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine have issued a warning about “alternative dosing” after the UK’s chief medical officers approved a change in guidance.

Now, instead of providing the second – booster – dose of the vaccine three weeks after the first injection, the jabs may be delivered up to 12 weeks later (nearly three months).

A spokesperson said: “There are no data to demonstrate that protection after the first dose is sustained after 21 days.”

The diffference has sparked something of a war of words between the chemists and Chris Whitty. His organisation said:

In terms of protecting priority groups, a model where we can vaccinate twice the number of people in the next 2-3 months is obviously much more preferable in public health terms than one where we vaccinate half the number but with only slightly greater protection.

But that’s not what Pfizer is saying.

The claim is that providing the booster jab so late means there will be no protection from Covid-19 at all.

It seems Boris Johnson is offering people the illusion of protection, while in fact making us more vulnerable to infection (because people who’ve had one jab will think they are safe when in fact – according to Pfizer – they aren’t).

And there is even a suggestion that doctors will be asked to mix vaccines, so that people who have had the first Pfizer/BioNTech dose might get the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab as their second. What possible good will that do? They aren’t the same.

Doctors are complaining because they have been told to mess the most vulnerable people in the UK around – contacting them to say their booster shots have been delayed.

The move has prompted criticisms that this is a public relations con by the Conservative government. The reasoning is clear and obvious:

It looks much better to say a million people have been vaccinated (albeit with one shot) than that half a million people have had the full protection of the initial injection and the booster.

And here’s Matt Hancock:

The Health Secretary Matt Hancock said one million people have been given the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in the UK.

It’s clear that the critics have a good point.

And what will Boris Johnson say if a person who’s had the inoculation catches Covid and dies? “Bah!” isn’t going to impress anybody.

I get the general impression that it is as you said the “illusion of protection” designed to keep the Tory supporters making a killing (quite literally) from the Covid gift that just keeps giving !

There is, according to Chris Whitty, a vaccine shortage that will last for many months. The Times 31 December 2020.

Guidelines have changed to get just 1 jab, which is against any scientific research results.

Neither of the 2 vaccines are tested for 3 months after 1st jab.

Consultants and doctors are writing enraged about medical staff not getting 2nd Pfizer jab.

In my area, will get 2nd Pfizer jab if had first, til appointments from 1 January from which time, will only get 1 jab.

The elderly will think they are vaccinated and go out and about when at greatest risk, aged in their 80s and 90s.

Getting 1 jab of Pfizer and 1 jab of AstraZeneca, with entirely different ingredients, and different risks, is the worst of all unscientific ideas.

Schools will re-open which will spread the variants even more.

We can’t have a general election until we all get vaccinated.

Lockdown will continue, when schools will be super spreading.

    This is more than shambolic.

The truth is we don’t have enough jabs til at least Spring, and only a tiny few of the elderly and NHS staff have been vaccinated.

Bankrupt Greece has both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines already.

Our Tories have now proven they are 100 per cent worse than even Trump in USA.

USA already is giving out another vaccine, Moderna, so why did we not get it, when bankrupt little Greece has both Pfizer and Moderna? If we had approved Moderna, we would have some extra supply of vaccine, but now EU will take a load of it … “A second vaccine developed by Moderna is expected to be approved by the EMA on January 6. The Commission has already purchased 80 million doses for member states with an option to request the quantity to be doubled.”… Euronews 30 December 2020

Greece has Moderna on order, sorry, not received, awaiting EU (EMA) approval January 6.

Typical shambolic stance from the fascist tories because they don’t want to spend money on vaccinating us peasants!

No use x number of peasants being given one dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and then die as a result of not being given the second dose within 4 weeks! No matter what lies the puppets of fascist dictator dick johnson utters the fact is Pfizer/BioNTech say there is no immunity unless peasants are given two vaccinations 4 weeks apart!

So did those fake puppet medical organisations actually conduct the Pfizer/BioNTech trials themselves or are they just the mouthpieces of fascist tory government? It looks good having stupid so-called medical boys claiming ‘well it’s okay for you peasants to be vaccinated three months apart because the vaccine works and what we say is always the truth!’

Don’t believe the lies emanating from those fake medical organisations because they are all under the control of the fascist tories and they are terrified of losing their jobs if they dare to tell the truth!

And it is useless mixing the two separate vaccines because duh that immediately makes immunisation worthless – it doesn’t work!

Why oh why do medical experts tell peasants – okay we’ll vaccinate you for cholera, typhoid etc but remember you must have two vaccinations no later than 4 weeks apart otherwise the immunisation doesn’t work! Oh but wait fascist dictator dick johnson and his stupid fascist tory boys are the real experts on saving our public money and then giving it to their crooked cronies!

    How to maintain state sanctioned mass murder – fascist tories save pennies by claiming ‘well mixing different vaccines is okay and peasants can just have one dose because hey if they die well that’s good riddance – we can spend the money saved by not having to provide medical care for these worthless peasants!;

However an official report states that the first jab from Pfizer us 90% effective. Surely that is just plain incorrect. Is this cockup or another case if stating something you want to be true ? https://www.cas.mhra.gov.uk/ViewandAcknowledgment/ViewAttachment.aspx?Attachment_id=103741&fbclid=IwAR2w3K5P4hbMxh1yA73VsUCnk–lEGjyKihZY7OIaibXS-Ynb7Xk4oD82Zw

I didn’t think that even this government could mess the vaccine up (apart from not buying enough), but oh dear they have worked so hard to come up with a way to screw us all over! I was so hopeful for this year, now I don’t even want to bother getting the vaccine unless I can have the second dose in the proper recommend time and the same vaccine for both doses. Is that what they are hoping? Save cash and let the peasants die?
