A year since he barred Jeremy Corbyn from the Parliamentary Labour Party, Keir Starmer’s poll ratings are in the sewage

Keir Starmer and Jeremy Corbyn: One of these has seen his popularity plummet after he attacked the other with false accusations. Can you tell which?

Sewage may be in the UK’s waterways but Keir Starmer is in the sewage, according to his latest poll ratings.

It’s all because he forced Labour into a factional war by barring former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn from the Parliamentary Labour Party – a year ago today (October 29).

See for yourself:

Here’s how the situation looks to those of us who understand these things:

There are some Labour MPs who hope Starmer will relent and that some credibility can be salvaged before it is too late…

… but it seems likely that most people have lost patience altogether and are looking elsewhere for their inspiration:

Labour under Starmer has become infamous as a prejudiced persecution factory – to the point where it is constantly mocked on the social media for having abandoned all its policies to crusade against its own members:

It seems, then, that if he is in the sewage, Starmer is in exactly the right place. Why would anybody vote for such a shower of sh*t?

Well, that’s the result of BS shadowy backers and lies told to get you the job and once there you declare war on the party. Try and fundamentally change the ideology of the party from socialist to Tory-lite!

So either you’re an idiot with no policies and just focus groups BS. Or you have been paid off to destroy the Labour party either way he is ….

i will never vote for starmers party, not now, not ever. if he tried to woo us all back tomorrow by promoting JC’s policies, i still would not vote for him, because once back in the party, he would go back on his word and dump the lot while dumping the rest of the left.

Agreed. He cannot be trusted with anything.

While I’m in full agreement with the substance of this article, it seems a shame to me, and perhaps a bit suspicious, that only 34% of the ‘Labour voters’ in the quoted poll approve of Caroline Lucas, whose socialist credentials are impeccable. It beggars belief that she ranks the same as Starmer.

Even more incredible is that 12% of said voters approve of Boris Johnson – I would expect that number to be zero. Very depressing if this accurately reflects the views of Labour voters.

In the case of Caroline Lucas, I would suspect that tribalism plays a part. She’s not Labour so she gets a lower rating.

In that of Boris Johnson, I would suspect entryism. Just as right-wing politicians like Keir Starmer have set up nests, cuckoo-like, in the Labour Party, so have right-wing voters. Remember, those policies of his that we have been able to see suggest that Starmer’s position on the political spectrum is slightly to the right of Boris Johnson!

I am quite shocked that it is one year since this shameful act, time has acted strangely these past eighteen months years! However, I think Rachael Swindon is right; I would be very disappointed if in the unlikely event Jeremy Corbyn had the whip restored, he responded in any other way than tell Starmer and Evans where to shove it.

    Like Simon Maggin’s summation too!

As someone who joined the Labour Party in the late 60’s it saddens and angers me so much, but I am afraid it is finished and something new needs to rise from the ashes.

The important figure is that he is more popular than Johnson, because he has obviously made the calculation that Labour voters will vote for Starmer’s Labour rather than the Tories – no matter what he does. So all he needs to do is attract Tory voters and he becomes PM

He’s not attracting Tory voters though. They see through him just as easily as we do.
