Wow. For the good of the nation, Boris Johnson needs to f*ck off.

No, there’s no call to discuss it or to hear his side. He can f*ck off now.

The reason? Persistent refusal to obey his own rules on Covid-19.

An email has come to light, inviting 100 people to a party in the garden of 10 Downing Street on May 20, 2020.

We were all in lockdown but it seems these people were invited to break it at the home of the prime minister.

And he was there. We know this because he has refused to deny that he was there. All he will say is that the matter of an alleged party is subject to investigation by Sue Gray.

Who’s Sue Gray? She’s the second permanent secretary at the Cabinet Office. The first, Cabinet Secretary Simon Case, had to recuse himself from taking part in any investigation after it was claimed that he had personally attended such a party.

Does anybody else think it’s strange that Boris Johnson can’t say whether he attended a party in the Downing Street garden on that date? I mean, he must know, right? Or has he been to so many parties since then that it has faded into the background?

We already know there were lockdown-breaking parties galore in Downing Street and Whitehall during November and December 2020.

What I want to know is why the invitation email from fall-guy Martin Reynolds has only been made public now, if 100 people received this. Where was their moral compass pointing – to the alcohol?

Let’s have their names. Let’s see them interviewed on TV and find out what they have to say about this.

Meanwhile, here’s Oliver Dowden, telling us what we could do on the day of that Downing Street party, when more than 100 people – including Boris Johnson and his wife – were raving it up together:

Only 55 minutes later, 10 Downing Street staff were having a garden party. Was he there?

And here’s a comment on that:

Fair enough. Oliver Dowden had better f*ck off too. No, we don’t need to hear him trying to justify himself. He can f*ck off now.

Hey, hang on! Hasn’t Boris Johnson had something to say about the Downing Street parties? I think he has…

So he was furious at himself… but not so furious that he felt it necessary to come clean to the nation and admit that he had been breaking his own rules left, right and centre.

Meanwhile, what was happening in the real world?

But Boris Johnson and hundreds of Downing Street staff (not just at this party, remember) were allowed to get away with it because they were members of the government?

Bear in mind that the rest of us weren’t even allowed to sit on park benches at the time these people were making the most of a bit of nice weather.

My problem with all this is that, even after reading all of the above, you won’t understand the level of contempt in which you were held by Boris Johnson, his government, and anybody who attended the many parties he hosted at Downing Street while you were banned from visiting your dying relatives in hospital.

Only days after this party happened, Johnson and his government were defending Dominic Cummings’s trip to Barnard Castle.

Hundreds of people were dying of Covid-19 every day.

In fact, we had been told that Johnson himself had been in hospital with Covid-19, only a few weeks previously.

What do we think of that now?

And as I write this, Johnson and his advisors are working out – or have already decided – who will appear on the morning media round to defend his behaviour…

You know what I’m going to say about that.

Whoever it is…

They can f*ck off too.

There’s no point in them saying anything.

They can f*ck off now.

And everybody involved – even tangentially – in this absolute travesty of government had better resign, clear their desk and clear out of government by the end of the week.

This nation has no use for them and they have already wasted far too much of our time.
