Has Ukraine given Nadine Dorries a ‘road to Damascus’ moment about the BBC?

Last Updated: March 3, 2022By Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Dorries v the BBC: only last month she was evading reasonable questions from the BBC’s Charlie Stait about then-beleaguered prime minister Boris Johnson.

Have a look (and listen) at this potentially Oscar-winning performance from Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Secretary ‘Mad Nad’ Dorries, discussing the brilliance of (among others) BBC reporters in Ukraine:

It’s a far cry from what she was saying, only a few months ago!

See/hear for yourself:

Back then, she was pushing the lie of BBC bias – which isn’t that it isn’t unbiased, of course (it is), but is that it is biased against her Tory Party and its politics. In fact, the BBC has bent over backwards to appease Tories like the inconsistent Nadine – all for nothing.

She has frozen the licence fee for two years and has demanded that the BBC must find a different way of funding itself in the very near future.

So, to return to the question posed in the headline: has Nadine Dorries really had a Damascene transformation?

No.

If she had, she would be putting her own war on the BBC into reverse. She isn’t.

It’s just another Tory hypocrisy that has been revealed by the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
