With more job vacancies than seekers: if employers can’t pay, TAKE YOURSELF AWAY!

Last Updated: May 17, 2022By Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

What you’re worth: with more jobs available than workers, you’re doing employers a favour if you decide to work for them. MAKE SURE THEY PAY YOU PROPERLY FOR IT.

Official figures are telling us there are more job vacancies than people looking for work – for the first time since records began.

So why aren’t employers paying enough for their staff to survive?

This Writer remembers a moment, back when I was looking for my first newspaper job. I called up for an interview and the guy on the phone asked me if I could make the following Monday (or whenever).

“Oh,” said I. “I’ve got another interview then. How about another time?”

“Too bad!” said he, and rang off – because so many people were looking for work then that employers could afford to treat people like dirt.

(I got the other job, though – and it was better-paid.)

Now the tables are turned. Jobseekers can afford to treat poor-paying bosses like dirt for a change.

So, work out how much you need to earn in order to live comfortably, and when you go to that job interview, make sure they pay it to you.

Because if they can’t (or, more probably, won’t), then they’ll have to do without your expertise.

And their company will probably collapse due to the lack of it…

… like the newspaper whose editor couldn’t be bothered to give me a mutually-convenient interview!

I believe most these ‘jobs’ are highly skilled low paid ones such as female specialist nurses, veterinary surgeons, GPs, agricultural workers and not forgetting the post which is still vacant.

That post is for a highly qualified experienced Prime Minister who does not have a criminal record and neither has a record of corruption, hatred for women, contempt for impoverished women, children and men and finally – is not a fascist tory!

Reason why there are so many vacancies is because EU citizens departed from little england when they realised the racist English hate anyone who isn’t in their view ‘a true little englander!’ Where’s the 50,000 nurses convict fascist little dictator duck johnson promised? oh yes they’re all happily now working in EU countries who do treat them as human beings not disposable rubbish!

Those left in little england do not have the necessary skills, expertise or experience to qualify for work as female specialist nurses, GP, medical doctors, teachers etc. Agricultural workers cannot just be ‘magically found’ but I’m certain the fascist tories will be ordering all the disabled, long term sick women and men to ‘get on their feet and find work – any work because claiming state financial support is now a crime!

However given the number of fascist male sexual predatory tory MPs this will obviously provide new vacancies for becoming an MP. No experience or qualifications needed – just ability to bamboozle us peasants and one is guaranteed a job as an MP! Why look at convict little fascist dictator duck johnson – he has no skills or qualifications other than being an expert liar and corrupt crook!

Your story about being badly treated was amusing. You must be a bit older than me. I went onto the job market in the worst of the recession in the 80s in an area that was being deindustrialised and had lost tens of thousands of jobs. These jobs were never ever replaced, people moved away and the population dropped. Since then I have personally been made redundant three times as employers contracted in the area at the expense of keeping their other bases in the south of England ie Tory country. The first miracle when I left school would be that there is a job willing to take someone with no experience or no degree. The second miracle would be getting ANY response from an application. Interviews were simply gold dust and, of my peer group, I was the one who got a job after only a full year of trying.

However, today’s young people have it even worse. Lower wages, no union protection and many of the rights that were fought for by my father and grandfather’s era have been whittled away by the Tories and never reinstated by Labour in office..

The ONS and LFS defintion of employed -“anyone aged 16, or over, who has completed at least one hour of work in the reference week, or are temporarily away from his or her job, such as being on holiday”.
Given this and the fact that several agencies can advertise the same job, really does not acurately reflect the true picture of full-time employment and as such is wide open to misinterpretation and/or abuse of statistics.

All we have is the Tory influenced MSM to rely on for information.
