Boris Johnson just made his last major speech as prime minister – announcing a £700 million bung for the building of a new reactor at the Sizewell nuclear power site.

Obviously any power to come from that will not come online for many years yet.

But he did have something to suggest to people facing massive rises in bills due to his mishandling of the UK’s economy and energy needs: buy a new kettle!
