Brexit: is the tide of public opinion turning at last?

Last Updated: October 22, 2022By Tags: , , , , ,

It seems people are finally waking up and realising that Brexit was a colossal con trick.

Watch this:

You’ll notice much of Phil’s speech refers to a Financial Times video clip that explains the pitfalls of Brexit in scrupulously impartial detail.

Here it is:

The Tories are going to squeeze our living standards to fill the hole they deliberately created in the public finances. But Phil argues that people are realising that Brexit has harmed the public purse by providing lower tax income due to the fall in profits from exported goods.

People are going to want to know why that hole can’t be filled by rejoining the EU and boosting export profits (and therefore tax revenues) again.

Finally, let’s have some comedy context. Nothing rams a point home better than a sharp piece of wit – and here it is:

And today – Saturday, October 22, 2022 – tens of thousands of people gathered in London for the first major UK pro-European event since 2019: the National Rejoin March:

This may be a movement whose time has come. I reckon it can only gain support in the future.

Brexit and Remain or now Rejoin has always been a distraction, we are not a Trading nation, we are purchaser of other countries finished goods, and that is because Thatcher killed off our manufacturing base, although he didn’t reference that fact one of the economists alluded to the fact that we are, overall a service industry country.

Which means that we have had trade deficits of around £4 – £6 billion on average month in month out back to the time Thatcher was in office, for the sole reason we don’t so much export to the EU and the rest of the world, we import. Go into any supermarket and buy finished goods and see where it is made, virtually nothing from Britain but China and the EU. Look where all our cars on British roads come from.

If we look at the so called industries that were declaring that they have moved businesses into the EU, we need to ask what it is they produce, and one let the cat out of the bag – when she said, we get sources from one sector of the EU which is now transferred to Poland where we have set up there, and now can move those products which we previously exported from Britain all around the EU. I suspect that they are mostly warehouse operations that suffer because they imported from outside the EU and now their customers have to pay import tariffs on everything they sell from Britain. Hence they import directly into the EU from their suppliers in the rest of the world and distribute it directly into EU countries Tarrif free. An economist also talked about a well known scam within the EU, where goods are transported into countries around the EU and each time claiming tax relief at each border they cross without delivering to a fixed destination, only in this case because Tories are idiots it would appear they have not created any system that to taxes imports from the EU. Which of course.

Jeremy Corbyn try to tell people why we needed to leave the EU in a structured manner, and yet remain in the Single Market, but no one was listening, the Remainers thought they were in a majority and sneered at him, and Brexiteers didn’t care at what cost, they just wanted out, with heavy racist connotations.

None of the commentators take into account the failures within the EU, the single currency, the Neo-Liberal regulations and institutions, the irreconcilable balance of trade within the EU, the rising poverty created by those institutions in the EU.

Remainers don’t understand how we need to readjust our economy to meet the needs of the 21st century, if they did, they would realise that the EU wouldn’t let them, and this catastrophe is of their making just as it is the Tories, who survive by chaos management as a political policy.
