Metropolitan Police officer guilty of dozens of sex crimes is one of a massive 800 being investigated

The Metropolitan Police Service stands ashamed after yet another of its number admitted a multitude of sex crimes, dating back more than a decade.

Here’s the report:

“Bastard Dave” joins other Metropolitan Police officers who have been disgraced over recent years – guilty of 49 sex crimes including 24 rapes.

Other Met officers who have “devastated women’s lives” nclude Wayne Couzens, who kidnapped, raped and murdered Sarah Everard, and burned the body to evade detection; and Francois Olwage, who was found guilty of three child sex offences in April last year.

But it gets worse. According to the BBC,

The Met Police is investigating 1,000 sexual and domestic abuse claims involving about 800 of its officers.

Sir Mark Rowley announced all 45,000 Met officers and staff would be rechecked for previously missed offending.

The spokeswoman who faced the press admitted having missed opportunities to identify a pattern of abusive behaviour; one would have thought having the nickname “Bastard Dave” might have been a bit of a clue.

One is led to believe that the Met is actually trolling us; that these prolific sex offenders are flaunting their behaviour.

No wonder so many people call them “the filth”.

I suspect there has been a deliberate degrading of recruitment policy as the current politics require hardmen and women as displayed frequently and violently during the Covid protests. The police are being arrested for murder, rape, kidnap is this really how low things have sunk how can you tell them apart from the real criminals? Desperate for recruits does not mean lowering the standards to criminal levels.

As a retired Police Sergeant I find it a disgrace that a man irrespective of his occupation can behave in this way. The senior Police officers should also be accountable due to their inadequacies in identifying who is and who isn’t a suitable applicant to be a Policeman. These days accelerated promotion places officers in senior positions and part of their job is selection. I would argue that this contributes to the problem faced within the Police. One also finds that some senior officers will not pursue a complaint against a subordinate because they fear that it might reflect badly on them and thereby count against them as the endeavour to climb the greasy pole for promotion.

Is he just being sacked or will he serve a prison sentence? That’s not been mentioned… erm … seems to have been kept quiet?
