Vox Political is happy to run sponsored posts – under the following conditions:

This is a centre-left UK politics comment site over which I – Mike Sivier – have total creative control, and I will only publish articles on subjects that correspond with the interests of my readers. I am therefore likely to reject pieces advertising – let’s go for a wild example – household goods. On the other hand, even though the site’s policy is to oppose private health, I may publish an article promoting it, in the spirit of being a ‘Devil’s Advocate’. In other words, the material you offer me must be in line with the purpose of the site.

As this is a UK-centric site, sponsored material should be relevant to UK readers.

In terms of payment, I am advised that I should charge – in UK pounds – no less than one per cent of the site’s circulation. This means the price may change on a month-by-month basis and you should contact me for the current rate.

I am willing to put the links to the sponsored articles at the top of the site’s home page (just under ‘Breaking News’ but above the headline articles of the day), in a special section of their own, so they will be the first articles visitors see, and I am willing to keep them there for up to 28 days (at the moment I am willing to run four per month, and gauge how readers accept them).

I would wish to receive payment for the placement promptly, in advance of the article going onto the site (it should not receive any space if it has not been funded).

Any links to outside sites that appear as part of the sponsorship must be clearly labelled as sponsored links.
