Selfish MP calls for Wales to be abolished so he can visit the beach – and Tories can take control

Daniel Kawczynski: you can tell just by looking at him that he’s another Tory berk.

What a selfish, entitled Tory git.

And the people of Shrewsbury have elected him as their MP continually over the last 15 years, with an increasing majority every time. What possessed them?

Daniel Kawczynski, Tory MP for Shrewsbury and Atcham, has called for the Welsh Parliament to be abolished so he can visit the beach.

Wales has coronavirus-related restrictions that are different from those in England. In Wales, people are not allowed to travel away from their local area and most cannot, therefore, visit the beach; nor can English people travel into Wales to do so.

In any event, Kawczynski is a fool because his nearest beach is in the Wirral.

His words suggest he is trying to use the virus and the lockdown – that his prime minister Boris Johnson imposed, let’s not forget – to rekindle the debate about whether the UK countries should have devolved Parliaments.

“I am sorry, but the time has come to reach out as Conservatives to large numbers of like-minded citizens in Wales who like us believe in one system for both nations,” he said.

“We must work towards another referendum to scrap the Welsh Assembly and return to one political system for both nations – a political union between England and Wales.”

He means he wants the Tories to carry out a political power-grab and take control of Wales, so they can impose their disastrous coronavirus policies there and kill thousands more Welsh people.

Fortunately, his efforts have resulted in him being made to look the fool that he is:

If both Jewish and Muslim representatives have condemned this MPs contact with the far right – why has he not been censured?

Both the Muslim Council of Britain and the Board of Deputies of British Jews have condemned Daniel Kawczynski for attending a conference with far-right European leaders.

But the Conservative government has said nothing.

What does that say about the politics of your cuddly, lovable, bumbling ol’ Boris Johnson?

Doesn’t it suggest that his own leanings are a little further to the right than we have been led to believe?

(That’s for readers who aren’t on benefits, of course. They all know the score.)

A Tory MP has defended his decision to speak at a conference in Rome alongside “some of Europe’s most notorious far-right politicians”.

Daniel Kawczynski has been condemned by the Board of Deputies of British Jews for attending the National Conservatism conference in Rome alongside Hungary’s far-right prime minister Viktor Orban.

Also speaking at the conference was Ryszard Legutko, the Polish Law and Justice MEP who has described homophobia as a “totally fictitious problem”

Misdaad Versie, a spokesperson for the Muslim Council of Britain also criticised Mr Kawczynski – as well as the Tory Chief Whip, whom the MP claims he informed about the conference ahead of time.

Theresa May lost her Brexit ‘meaningful vote’. Where’s our election, Charles Walker?

On her way: Wouldn’t it be great if Theresa May got in her prime ministerial car, took a trip to Buckingham Palace, and asked for her disastrous Parliament to be dissolved?

Before Theresa May’s Brexit deal went down to its second defeat in a “meaningful vote” – by a margin of 149, no less, Tory MP Charles Walker said there would have to be a general election if she lost.

He said: “I think if the deal doesn’t get through tonight, I think there will have to be a General Election because this Parliament now looks very much like a failing Parliament.

“We were elected to make decisions. We are elected, sometimes, to make imperfect decisions because perfection is often an illusion.

“And if we can’t decide tonight to leave the EU under the terms the Prime Minister has negotiated, then I can’t see really how this government can continue in office. I think she will have to seek a new mandate.”

Those words were echoed by Daniel Kawczynski – another Conservative MP.

Well, she lost.

And the words of Messrs Walker and Kawczynski were echoed by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

“The prime minister has run down the clock and the clock has been run out on her,” he said. “It’s time that we have a general election and the people can choose who their government should be.”

So when can we hope for this election – the third in four years – to take place?

That would be a “meaningful vote” we can all support!

Daniel Kawczynski’s Brexit appeal to Poland – so much for sovereignty and ‘taking back control’

Daniel Kawczynski: He really wants sovereignty for the UK but seems to have a problem understanding what sovereignty means.

So here’s Daniel Kawczynski: A confirmed Brextremist, he is dead set on the UK regaining its sovereignty on March 29 and making decisions for itself, rather than relying on any of the nations in the European Union.

And here’s the same Daniel Kawczynski – Polish-born Tory MP for Shrewsbury – proudly telling us he’s relying on the Polish Government to impose its will on the UK by preventing us from extending the date of Brexit to a later date; if the UK approves an extension, the EU would have to approve it too – otherwise it couldn’t happen. Here he is:

It’s great to see such a complete absence of self-awareness, isn’t it?

Even better to see so many people enjoying it too. Here‘s Daisy Ecksamania: “This is actively encouraging a foreign power to interfere in UK national affairs, which I would say is tantamount to treason

I love this one – Dr Karen QueueJumper Schafheutle: “Working with a foreign government to subvert the will of the UK parliament. And you put it in a tweet.”

Mike Vine: “We are now at the point where a serving MP openly boasts about working with a foreign government (a pretty extreme right wing one at that) against the interests of this country! Surely there must a word for such activities with associated legal sanctions!”

“The Amazin’ Chris Graylin'” had a new perspective: “Good plan. Could we reach out to France, Germany, Italy, etc as well. In fact, perhaps we could formalise this reaching out with some sort of permanent agreement that all the Euro countries agree to help each other out. Will put it to the PM, this could be a winner.”

London John told us all why he thinks Mr Kawczynski is keen on hard Brexit:

… and Huw Peach told us what happened when he told the public about it: “After I posted the same Private Eye article last summer, Mr Kawczynski asked by DM for my phone no, called me up & shouted at me for about 20 minutes, saying I was bringing politics into the gutter & that I was responsible for him being attacked in

(I’m not giving out my own phone number but I can’t wait for that call. I only hope I’m quick enough to be able to record it all!)

The worst of it is, he clearly doesn’t even understand how he has brought all this ridicule on himself. But we’re back to the self-awareness thing again.

And this is how Brexit happened: Complete lack of self-awareness by Tories.
