If you’re looking for a story that hilariously spotlights the insanity into which UK politics has fallen, here it is: Far-right supporters of Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, the activist who was convicted for contempt of court yesterday (July 5), have been praising BBC stalwart Kate Adie for supporting him.
The trouble is, it’s a fake Twitter account and all they have done is set themselves up for more ridicule.
Meanwhile, the traffic warden who ticketed Yaxley-Lennon’s bus while it was parked outside the Old Bailey has received well-deserved plaudits.
Here’s how it unravelled on Twitter – with video evidence:
Fake Kate Adie account really reeling in the Tommy Twitter Brigade… a trainee reporter on their first day knows this isn’t true, yet they gobble it up. pic.twitter.com/tyQG3RAMjR

Here’s a trainee reporter who did gobble it up – right-wing hack James Delingpole:
Thought it was obviously a fake account for a moment but thankfully this confirms it is the real Kate Adie. pic.twitter.com/fls2HEbOfA

His editors should probably check his credentials before letting him write anything else. Thankfully other people got the point:
Honestly the absolute thick twats on here thinking this is a real account and believing they’ve got the actual Kate Adie on their side is even funnier than that absolute melt of a man Tommy Robsyourmoney going to prison again!

The whole farrago culminated with this:
I’m Kate Adie yes I’m the real Adie
All you other Kate Adies are just imitating
So won’t the real Kate Adie please stand up. pic.twitter.com/Yz60l9JhZC— ex Labour part member (@baloo_moon) July 6, 2019
Meanwhile, outside the Old Bailey…
Here's the glorious moment! 👌🏽👌🏽 pic.twitter.com/VdCWPuqvvF
