Would Lee Anderson have told Jewish refugees to ‘f*** off’ back to Germany in WW2?

Floating concentration camp: Bibby Stockholm (pictured) is a floating mirror of the camps built by Nazis for groups they considered undesirable. How many Jewish asylum-seekers and refugees have been forced to board it?

Here’s a sad reminder of the lengths by which the Conservatives have regressed UK society:

Professor Roberts is only slightly inaccurate; while the Bibby Stockholm and any other converted prison barges are reminiscent of those ships from centuries ago, they are more accurately described as concentration camps – a label most commonly associated with the Nazi extermination of Jews, Romanies, homosexuals and other proscribed groups in the 1930s and 40s.

One cannot help but feel that this was an intended aim of Tory immigration policy; they did not have to let the issue of refugees migrating across the English Channel happen at all – it used to be well under control but successive legislative changes by the Tories changed that.

Is it a sinister message to the people of the UK? “Do as you’re told or you will be next?”

The Conservatives themselves have been strident in their support of a policy that imprisons people who have done nothing wrong, with a view to deporting them to a foreign country with a highly-questionable human rights record.

But they have (deliberately?) got the tone all wrong. Their party’s deputy chairman, “30p Lee” Anderson, actually used obscene language when referring to asylum-seekers – which implies that he considers them to be a form of life that is below him (this is impossible; as a Tory, Lee Anderson is already lower than vermin).

The associations with other far-right political organisations were quickly identified, but Anderson has been defended by other high-ranking Tories:

And public opinion has judged them all:

In fairness, the attitude is being challenged – and you can judge the pitiful response from Justice Secretary Alex Chalk for yourself:

There isn’t a queue to jump, of course. The UK government picks and chooses who it allows in and, if you are from a wide array of countries that includes territory the UK has bombed within the last 13 years, there is no legal route for asylum open to you.

People who believe they must seek sanctuary in the UK – and remember, France takes three times as many refugees as this country has; German takes 10 times as many – have no choice but to do as they have.

Here’s Chalk again, showing that he shares Anderson’s fascist views about foreigners:

His claim that people should stop at the first “safe” country has long-since been debunked; international law does not demand that and never has.

Fortunately the rest of us aren’t putting up with any of this Tory/Fascist/racist nonsense:

Now brace yourself for a bombshell:

If asylum-seekers and/or refugees refuse to take places on the Bibby Stockholm floating concentration camp, they won’t be sent back to France but they will lose financial support from the UK government, which will not provide accommodation for them.

So let’s be clear on this: they’ll still be in the UK, but out on the streets, unmonitored? Isn’t that what they want?

So the Tory plan to deal with these asylum-seekers and refugees is either to make them put up with conditions similar to those faced by concentration camp victims in Nazi Germany or to flood the UK’s streets with them – something politicians like Lee Anderson and Alex Chalk have been strenuously opposing for a long time.

Where’s the sense in that?

Meanwhile, on the other side of the House of Commons, we see no opposition at all:

So Keir Starmer agrees with the Tories yet again. No surprises there.

Indeed, the rhetoric of Starmer’s STP (Substitute Tory Party – formerly Labour) is identical to that of the Conservatives on this matter:

£6 million a day adds up to £2,190,000,000 a year for hotel accommodation. The barges cost – well, see for yourself:

So: £800 million per year. But that’s not instead of the cost of hotels – it is in addition to that cost.

And what are we – and asylum seekers/refugees – getting for that cost? Edwin Hayward has researched it:

He had a highly-pertinent response to a correspondent who thought this didn’t seem too bad:

The best word on this whole sorry affair has come – as it usually does – from the most unfairly-vilified politician in Westminster: Jeremy Corbyn. He reminds us that the UK used to have a human immigration and asylum system, before the fascists and racists who currently call themselves Conservatives (and their counterpart cuckoos in Keir Starmer’s party) came along.

And look at the comment on his words, below:

We have come full circle.

UK policy on refugees and asylum-seekers is not only vile and inhumane; it reflects that of the Nazis to the minorities they persecuted.

Lee Anderson, Alex Chalk, Keir Starmer and Stephen Kinnock (it seems clear) would have put Jewish refugees from the Nazis in concentration camps, if they had been alive and in Parliament at that time. And how many of those currently aboard Bibby Stockholm are Jewish, anyway?

The Tories are lying about Universal Basic Income

Oliver Dowden: he doesn’t want people to have a guaranteed minimum income; he wants us to live in fear of poverty.

As England prepares to run two pilot studies on Universal Basic Income, the Tories have been talking it down just as much as they can.

But is it that bad? A recent study in Finland would suggest that it’s actually very good for people, no matter what Politics Live panellist Lee Rowley might say.

What do you think? Would you like a guaranteed minimum income? Would you feel more secure with it? Would it encourage you to try things you otherwise would not?

Comedians raise awareness of sewage dumping at Lake Windermere protest

Paul Whitehouse, Lee Mack and Steve Coogan at Lake Windermere: the water won’t be magically cleaned just because they joined a protest – that is up to the rest of us.

This Site would like to add its praise to that already heaped on household-name comedians Steve Coogan, Lee Mack and Paul Whitehouse (plus any others who haven’t been named by national media) for raising awareness of sewage pollution.

They joined a protest against United Utilities’ pollution of Lake Windermere, giving it a mass-media boost that put the message onto TV screens across the UK.

And they said – well, hear it for yourself. Here are Messrs Coogan and Mack on ITV’s Good Morning Britain:

And here’s Lee Mack on Channel 4 News. I include the tweet by Feargal Sharkey because the former pop musician turned environmental campaigner has himself done invaluable work in publicising this scandal:

One well-publicised protest won’t clean up our waterways overnight.

As you can tell from the clips, United Utilities doesn’t really care. It’s happy giving £300 million to shareholders this year, while devoting just one-fifteenth as much to cleaning up its act. That’s the wrong way around, but it is the way chosen by the UK’s right-wing governments since 1989 – both Tory and Labour, who privatised our water and sewage services and kept them that way.

If you care about the country you live in, you need to kick up a fuss about this. Complain to your water company – demand a refund! And get on to your MP about it too.

Sewage dumping brings disease. The creek near Environment Secretary Therese Coffey’s own constituency home is full of e.Coli – but she couldn’t care less. You have to make her care.

Are you going to follow the example of Coogan, Mack, Whitehouse and the others? They can’t do it by themselves.

Anti-Monarchists should quit UK says Leeanderthal, after police target potential rape victims

Despicable: as the person who posted this image stated: “This will be the photo that goes around the world today. A peaceful protester handcuffed and arrested in Britain.”

Where would he send them – Rwanda?

Not happy with the arrests of 52 peaceful protesters, Tory deputy chairman Lee Anderson thinks they should leave the UK of their own accord, presumably so forelock-tugging, kowtowing toadies like him can carry on bullying the rest of us with impunity.

He tweeted: “Not My King? If you do not wish to live in a country that has a monarchy the solution is not to turn up with your silly boards. The solution is to emigrate.”

Anderson’s complaint – essentially that anti-monarchists hate the UK and should therefore leave – is largely nonsense. Anti-monarchists mostly don’t even hate the members of the Royal Family (although there are one or two notable exceptions…).

Meanwhile, of course, we’re learning more about the behaviour of the police – who worked hard to protect the new King from people brandishing magazine covers, wearing t-shirts and holding placards…

… and, in the middle of the night before the coronation, the Metropolitan Police protected the King from a group of people who hand out rape alarms to women walking in Soho in the dark:

The police responded to the outcry the following day – but it is very easy to condemn the spokesperson’s words as nonsense:

It’s not believable, really, is it? The police heard that people being handed rape alarms were going to disrupt the Coronation procession at two o’clock in the morning when it wasn’t even happening, and this would scare their horses that weren’t even there?

There’s no point in checking whether any such intelligence really was received, of course. The Metropolitan Police Service has lost public trust to such a degree that nobody would believe the reality of any documentation it produces.

This Site reported yesterday that Republic’s chief executive, Graham Smith, was arrested before the coronation events began. He has since been released, and had this to say:

According to the BBC,

Scotland Yard said those arrested had been held on suspicion of affray, public order offences, breach of the peace and conspiracy to cause a public nuisance around the Coronation.

No doubt many Monarchists have applauded what they consider to be proportionate police action against dangerous subversives. But here’s an inconvenient truth:

The fear of this is already being instilled – in young people.

The implication is clear: our youngsters are being told that they are not important; their views do not count and if they try to express those views in any way they will be arrested and punished for a criminal offence.

They’re being told to accept their lot as drones working for the elites in Parliament and big business; that they must keep their heads down and do as they’re told.

And if they don’t like it, they can (try to) move to another country.

Would you accept that from your government, your monarchy, your police?

There is a ray of hope; some MPs take an alternative view to that of the Leeanderthal and are demanding an explanation of what happened:

Hopefully this will stimulate a debate.

But under Rishi Sunak’s fetid, corrupt government, do any of you seriously believe any statement we get will be worth the time we’ll have to waste listening to it?

The Leeanderthal proves once again he’s no genius in train-wreck dialogue with Met Commissioner

Lee Anderson: from his treatment of the Metropolitan Police commissioner, it seems he has as little regard for the law as the fellow on the left of the image.

Cast your eyes over this, paying special attention to the response quoting the MPs’ code of conduct:

Looking at the way Lee Anderson treated Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley, do you think the latter would be justified in making a complaint to the Standards Commissioner?

As for 30p Lee (and it’s more than he’s worth!) – this man is Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party; that organisation apparently couldn’t find anybody better for the job.

With local elections only a week away, one would have thought Anderson would have been instructed to keep a low profile. It seems he wasn’t – and he did what he did.

If you’re voting in the local elections, bear this in mind when you head for the ballot box.

Lee Anderson’s second job hypocrisy

Lee Anderson: he’s the one on the right, pictured with another controversial man at the moment, Boris Johnson. Strangely enough, ’30p Lee’ has not, to This Writer’s knowledge, criticised Johnson for the many other paying engagements he takes on and it seems unlikely he ever will, now that he has also taken a second job.

Tory MP ’30p Lee’ Anderson, who once said MPs should not take second jobs but should quit Parliament altogether before seeking a higher-paying career… is taking a second job.

He’ll be drawing down £100,000 a year on a GB News TV show:

The hypocrisy is clear. I don’t have video clips of Anderson saying the words quoted above, but here’s one of him saying MPs who can’t live on their £84,000-a-year salary should get a job as a lorry driver instead:

The funny side is, Anderson wouldn’t even do that.

Lee Anderson sticks his foot in his mouth yet again (Universal Credit)

Lee Anderson (right): he wants to starve the children of people on Universal Credit who can’t afford to feed them properly, it seems.

Tory deputy chairman Lee Anderson has made a fool of himself yet again.

In a Westminster Hall debate on the cost of food, he claimed it is a myth that people on Universal Credit are in poverty – as an excuse not to provide free school meals to everybody on the benefit.

He said some had “household incomes of over £40,000 a year” and “loopholes” in London allowed them to “top their wages up” by a further £30,000.

Maybe it’s true – but I doubt it. Universal Credit is paid to people on low incomes. For every pound earned above a defined allowance, 55p is removed from the amount a household receives.

With UC set at £334.91 a month for single claimants aged 25 or over, or £525.72 a month for joint claimants with either aged 25 or over, it is impossible for people to bring in £40k a year and still be on the benefit.

(It is also worth noting that the DWP stuck its own departmental foot in its spokesperson’s mouth when they said benefits are designed to ensure that “working always pays more” – because government policy for the last 13 years has been to push wages below the poverty level.)

Lee Anderson’s latest nonsense is destroyed in one tweet

The Leeanderthal has struck again!

Death-penalty-demanding Tory deputy chairman Lee Anderson is already known to have lied in a video ostensibly showing him persuading a voter to abandon their allegiance to another party and vote for him and the Conservatives (in reality, it was a personal friend who was going to vote for Anderson anyway).

Here are a few more of his personal gaffes, but we’re concentrating on dishonesty for now.

Now he has taken to Twitter to put up a few amazing assertions that Russ ‘The Week In Tory’ Jones took apart in just 35 words.

Anderson wrote: “In the 70s working 7 days a week down t’pit my dad grew veg and kept chickens in our garden. That was our foodbank.”

Mr Jones responded as follows:

Of course, it’s possible to argue that Anderson’s dad didn’t live in a council house, or that it was possible to keep chickens and grow vegetables in whatever garden was available, depending on the rules of the council that owned the house.

But…

This is ’30p Lee’ tweeting this stuff. Without proof either way, our logical reaction has to be that it is nonsense. And he shouldn’t be bringing his dad into his political rants.
