Jeremy Corbyn spoke on Anti-Racism Day; his message on asylum-seekers is clear

A former Labour Party leader who was wrongly painted as a racist by gossips, factionalists and fake journalists spoke at a rally against racism – with a message that was highly pertinent to today.

As Suella Braverman flew to Rwanda to pretend her policy – of deporting people coming to the UK to flee persecution – is somehow humane, Jeremy Corbyn explained the facts:

He had joined demonstrators from Stand Up To Racism in a march to Whitehall:

The next tweet makes clear how the public still feels about the lies we were told when he was Labour leader:

And he spoke eloquently on the new Illegal Migration Bill:

Remember: the only reason the Tories can’t cope with the number of people coming to the UK is that they have chosen not to; Boris Johnson declined to continue a ‘Returns’ agreement with the European Union that would have made it possible for the UK to send back more Channel migrants than are currently traveling here.

So whose view do you support? Corbyn’s or Braverman’s?

Something for the weekend? A comment on Labour’s open-door policy for right-wingers

Is this really a joke?

After Keir Starmer’s party readmitted Angela ‘Funny Tinge’ Smith, Mike ‘Trot Off’ Gapes and Luciana ‘Antisemitism accusations against my own constituency party members’ Berger, it would be easy to believe it has accepted an application from ‘Hatey’ Katie Hopkins.

This Site has, for many years, refused to acknowledge her existence but this was such low-hanging fruit it was impossible to ignore it.

Needless to say, I shall continue ignoring her existence in the future.

Suella Braverman attacks Indians – while the UK tries to do a trade deal with their country

Is this more proof that the Liz Truss Tory government is actually insane?

Many seem to think it is. Here’s Professor Tim Wilson:

And here’s a more detailed analysis from the BBC’s Politics Live:

Whichever way you see this, it’s a huge shot in the foot for Liz Truss and her government, and a shocking failure of diplomacy. Relations with India may not recover for a considerable period of time.

What do you think of it?

Have YOU donated to my crowdfunding appeal, raising funds to fight false libel claims by TV celebrities who should know better? These court cases cost a lot of money so every penny will help ensure that wealth doesn’t beat justice.

The party of bigotry: Tories reinstate members who made racist remarks

Is this the reason Theresa May has been quiet about Donald Trump’s apparent support of white supremacists, racists, Nazis and anti-Semites?

Already, the Tories have welcomed two disgraced councillors back into their ranks:

Robert Davies, a Conservative Councillor in Sterling, was suspended from the party just weeks after being elected in May after large number of offensive, racist and derogatory tweets were uncovered by the Stirling Observer and the Scottish Catholic Observer.

And Alistair Majury was suspended at the same time for posting offensive remarks about Catholics.

A spokeperson for the party is reported to have said: “Having served a suspension, both councillors have been readmitted to the party after offering unreserved apologies for any offence caused. It has been made abundantly clear that behaviour like this will not be tolerated in future.”

But there’s so much of it!

Evolve Politics has published a list of recent stories involving Tory racism.

And now Theresa May is considering readmitting Anne Marie Morris, the Tory MP for Newton Abbot who was suspended for using the phrase “N*gg*r in a woodpile” to describe the possibility of no deal being reached over Brexit, during a seminar at the East India Club in London:

Like the others, Ms Morris has apologised “unreservedly” for her comment.

So she’ll probably be readmitted to the Tory ranks at the earliest opportunity.

Should she not have been dismissed from the party altogether?

And what does it say about the Tories, when they fill their ranks with racists?

Is former Thatcher and Major advisor Derek Laud right to say – as quoted by Evolve Politics – that the Tories are “essentially racist”?
