‘Am I Being Unreasonable’? Mumsnet user demands eugenics against disabled kids

So much for that bastion of respectability, Mumsnet, it seems.

In fact, it seems the site has lost its shine after building a reputation for transphobia, but now it seems to have added disablism to its sins.

Buy Cruel Britannia in print here. Buy the Cruel Britannia ebook here. Or just click on the image!

Here’s what was said – and let’s enjoy the responses too:

Indeed, what next? A visit by Aktion T4 – the van with the Zyklon-B?

Let’s have some more responses:

India Willoughby stated: “Mumsnet is NOT a parenting site anymore. It’s a staging ground for bigotry and extremism, where the most awful things are said. Go look. The transphobia in the ‘Feminist’ section is stomach turning. Here a poster questions the value of educating disabled kids.”

Rachel added: “Less Mumsnet, more EugenicsNet now! This is really heartbreaking, OF COURSE disabled children deserve an education and the opportunity to learn and play with others, uncover their talents and learn social skills, regardless of what they go on to do!”

It seems this sort of thing has been happening on Mumsnet for a while.

It would be nice to have a comment from Mumsnet’s organisers.

This Site has requested one, and will publish it if it is forthcoming.

How many Israelis were killed on October 7, again? And, how many were children?

*Caveat: this article is based on information that may change as more becomes available.

Duper’s delight: Look at that smug smile – Benjamin Netanyahu may have been telling fibs again.

It seems Israel may have been lying to us all (surprise, surprise!) about what happened on October 7 – the number of civilian fatalities, the number that were children, and what happened to them.

The following material comes from a website called The Cradle, which suggests that “evidence is now emerging that up to half the Israelis killed were combatants; that Israeli forces were responsible for some of their own civilian deaths [we knew that, right?]; and that Tel Aviv disseminated false ‘Hamas atrocities’ stories to justify its devastating air assault on Palestinian civilians in Gaza.”

It claims that information from the Israeli news organisation Haaretz showed that, by October 23, only 683 Israeli deaths could be verified – not the 1,400 claimed by Israel’s government:

Of these, 331 casualties – or 48.4 percent – have been confirmed to be soldiers and police officers, many of them female. Another 13 are described as rescue service members, and the remaining 339 are ostensibly considered to be civilians.

There are also so far no recorded deaths of children under the age of three, which throws into question the Israeli narrative that babies were targeted by Palestinian resistance fighters. Of the 683 total casualties reported thus far, seven were between the ages of 4 and 7, and nine between the ages of 10 and 17. The remaining 667 casualties appear to be adults.

Buy Cruel Britannia in print here. Buy the Cruel Britannia ebook here. Or just click on the image!

So what about all those gruesome claims? Rapes, beheaded babies?

Aviva Klompas, a former speechwriter for the Israeli mission to the UN, was the first Israeli of note to spread the claim that there were reports of “Israeli girls being raped and their bodies dragged through the street.

She posted this on X at 9:18 PM (Palestine time), on 7 October, although an op-ed Klompa published with Newsweek at 12:28 AM (Palestine time), on 8 October, made no mention of any sexual violence.

Klompas is also the co-founder of Boundless Israel, a “think-action tank” that works “to revitalize Israel education and take bold collective action to combat Jew-hatred.” An “unapologetically Zionist” charitable group that works to promote Israeli narratives on social media.

The one case touted as proof of rape was that of a young German-Israeli woman named Shani Louk, who was filmed face down in the back of a pickup truck and was widely assumed dead.

It was unclear whether the fighters filmed with Louk in the Gaza-bound vehicle were members of Hamas, as they do not sport the uniforms or insignia of the Al-Qassam troops identifiable in other Hamas videos – some even wore casual civilian clothing and sandals.

Later, her mother claimed to have evidence that her daughter was still alive, but had suffered a severe head wound. This rings true with information released by Hamas that indicated Louk was being treated for her injuries at an unspecified Gaza hospital.

Complicating matters further, on the day these rape allegations arose, Israelis would not have had access to this information. Their armed forces had not yet entered many, if not most, of the areas liberated by the resistance and were still engaged in armed clashes with them on multiple fronts.

Nevertheless, these rape claims took on a life of their own, with even US President Joe Biden alleging, during a speech days later, that Israeli women were “raped, assaulted, paraded as trophies” by Hamas fighters. It is important to note that The Forward’s article on 11 October reported that the Israeli military acknowledged they had no evidence of such allegations at that point.

When the army later made its own allegations of decapitations, foot amputations, and rape, Reuters pointed out that “the military personnel overseeing the identification process didn’t present any forensic evidence in the form of pictures or medical records.” To date, there is no credible evidence of these atrocities that has been presented.

Other outrageous allegations, such as the story of Hamas “beheading 40 babies‘ made headlines and the front pages of countless western news outlets. Even Biden claimed to have seen “confirmed photos of terrorists beheading babies.” The claims trace back to Israeli reserve settler and soldier David Ben Zion, who has previously incited violent riots against Palestinians and called for the West Bank town of Huwara to be wiped out. No evidence was ever produced to support these claims and the White House itself confirmed later that Joe Biden had never seen such photos.

What do you think?

We have first-hand information from former Hamas hostages that they have been well-treated. It seems that, besides the destruction of the IDF’s Gaza Division, the aim of the Hamas incursion on October 7 was to take live hostages that could be exchanged with the circa-5,300 Palestinians said to be inhabiting Israeli jails for no good reason, many of them women and children.

If that’s true, then Hamas would have wanted to avoid causing serious harm to civilians.

So – if this information is accurate, then Israel’s spokespeople have lied about the number and nature of the people who were killed, and in their claims of atrocities inflicted upon the dead.

Considering how other claims by Israel’s government have also fallen apart (which one is your favourite?)…

Well, what do you think? Comment using the box below.

After Hamas incursion, Israel declares war on everybody in Gaza [DISTRESSING IMAGES]

Palestine and Israel: I know I’m using this image of war-torn flags a lot, but it seems less likely to cause upset than the images coming from those lands at the moment.

Polling company YouGov has issued the results of a survey that suggest more people now sympathise with Israel than Palestine – although the numbers are so low that it makes no real difference; there’s no clear majority:

Why the change, though? Could it possibly be because the mass media response to the violence has been entirely in support of Israel?

Has anybody on the main news channels or newspapers run any copy at all that details the suffering to which Palestinian people have been subjected on a dailybasis by the Israeli occupation?

Even the coverage of the current crisis is deeply slanted. We’ve had many claims of Hamas killing civilians, taking hostages, committing sex crimes – and if true, those are all sickening and should not have happened. I wish to make that entirely clear because I know there are some readers who will try to twist my words if I don’t.

Now consider Israel’s response, which is not only to deprive Gaza of energy, water and food but also to bomb it indiscriminately, murdering civilians – exactly the crime of which that country accused Hamas, but this time it is not the action of an isolated group but of a national government:

Who are the “human animals” in such a situation? After Jewish people were treated as less-than-human by Nazi Germany, one would have expected an Israeli minister to be more careful with the language he used.

The situation is clear. But some simply won’t accept it:

So let’s show you the reality. Here come the distressing images I flagged up in the headline:

Still not convinced? On Monday afternoon, the United Nations Human Rights Council observed a minute’s silence for the loss of innocent lives in Palestine (and elsewhere):

And in response to Rishi Sunak’s speech saying that Hamas are not freedom fighters but terrorists, UN figures showing the relative human costs of conflict between Israel and Palestine provide a possible insight on which side is really spreading terror:

Total deaths from 2008 to 2020: Palestine – 5,590; Israel – 251. Palestinian deaths are more than 22 times more than those of Israelis – and you’re being asked to believe that Israel is the victim?

And you’re starting to believe it, according to the poll at the top of this article.

There is an explanation. Here’s Grace Blakeley:

Fortunately, many people are still questioning the approved narrative. This is just one example:

And we must remember that, when asked, the vast majority of those polled – 64 per cent, which is nearly two-thirds – said they didn’t know who should have their sympathy.

It isn’t a clear-cut, goodies v baddies situation. Atrocities have been committed by both sides.

But take a look at the figures. Listen to the rhetoric coming from Tel Aviv and look at the result in Gaza. Make up your own mind.

Why did Met Police strip-search so many children – and then lie about it?

Police: was it really necessary for them to strip-search so many children?

There cannot be a good explanation for this:

In 2021, the Met Police carried out 269 “More Thorough Searches that expose Intimate Parts” on children. It previously reported the number as 99.

Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said last month the Met had “misused” the power.

The issue was recently scrutinised by Dame Rachel de Souza, the children’s commissioner for England.

She found that across the country, there were “systemic problems with transparency, scrutiny and non-compliance with guidelines when children were being strip-searched under stop-and-search powers”.

Pastor Lorraine Jones, CEO of the Dwayne Simpson Foundation, a Brixton-based organisation that aims to steer young people away from crime, called the misreported figures a “disgrace”.

She asked what kind of aftercare and compensation was given to such children and questioned how the Met could regain community trust over the issue of intimate searches of minors.

It can’t, as far as This Writer can see.

It tells us that the officers who carried out these searches may not be serious officials carrying out a duty, but are more likely to be a bunch of paedophiles who’ve put themselves in uniform to force youngsters to accept mistreatment that they otherwise would not have to.

Can anyone prove me wrong?

Studies Show Childhood Hunger Seriously Effects Children’s Mental And Physical Development | The poor side of life

Square meals: remember when vulnerable children were going to go hungry during the school holidays because the Tory government couldn’t care less, and had to have its collective mind changed by footballer Marcus Rashford?

Ladies and gentlemen, you are not reading enough social media journalism!

I know – that’s another blanket statement. Disagree with it wildly if you like but as a population, people in the UK have been conditioned to ignore social media journalism by sites like Facebook, that restrict their readership to a tiny fraction of a site’s followers and then try to charge us money to reach even a tiny fraction of the rest.

Let’s try to fix that by promoting sites that provide valuable information that you won’t get from the Tory lackeys in the mainstream media.

In other words, here’s Charlotte Hughes:

Recent studies have shown that hunger and malnourishment can have a severe impact on a child’s mental and physical development, which can ultimately affect their academic performance and life opportunities.

An ever increasing number of children are now living in poverty as a result of the cost of living crisis, increasing energy costs, parents losing their jobs and DWP (Department of Work and Pensions) issues such as benefit sanctions.

According to the End Child Poverty coalition, 4.2 million children in the UK are living in poverty, 2.4 million of whom are living in severe poverty. Poverty is a significant driver of hunger and food insecurity, with many families struggling to afford and find healthy and nutritious food.

The effects of hunger and malnutrition on a child’s learning can be very profound. Children who experience hunger often find it difficult to concentrate and focus, affecting their memory and cognitive abilities.

This can also lead to behavioral issues, affecting their interactions with others and their overall development.

Moreover, poor nutrition can significantly affect a child’s physical development, leading to a lack of energy, poor growth, and an increased likelihood of illness.

One recent study found that children who experienced hunger were more likely to have lower academic performance and to struggle with basic literacy and numeracy. Children who eat more healthily and more varied diets also have better cognitive abilities, and in many cases have better academic outcomes.

Whilst there are interventions such as breakfast clubs and food banks that can help alleviate these problems, and it is vitally important for policymakers, schools, and charities to work together to ensure that all children have access to the resources they need to thrive… sadly at the time of writing the government is very reluctant to help at all. Instead the cost of living crisis and rising energy costs are continuing to increase plunging more children and their families further into poverty.

Is the government doing this purposely? It certainly makes me suspect this. The health and wellbeing of working class children appears to be unimportant to them.

Charlotte doesn’t offer any solutions but it is clear that only one will do: regime change.

We need a different government with better priorities – and, by the way, in This Writer’s opinion Keir Starmer’s Labour simply won’t be good enough.

If you’re not keen to do anything yourself, quite yet, then at least visit the Poor Side of Life website and subscribe to it. Then you’ll be able to keep informed.

Missing asylum-seeking children may be working in the sex industry – and the government ignored warnings

This is exactly what I was alluding to, when I wrote, “Kidnapped? Made into slaves for criminal gangs, for purposes that one flinches from considering?”

Dame Sara Thornton is a former UK Anti-Slavery Commissioner, and was previously Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police. She reckons asylum-seeking children, spirited away from hotels, may have been set to work on drug farms or in the sex industry.

She also said that 440 children were reported missing, of which the 200 mentioned in earlier reports were merely those who remained unaccounted-for.

But the bombshell was that the government has known about the problem for a considerable amount of time, but simply couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it.

Watch:

The clip also covers the death of Zara Aleena and the failings of the Probation Service. Dame Sara said the service needed to be properly staffed, funded and resourced.

And on the subject of recent convictions of Metropolitan Police officers, she said, “You can’t keep on saying it’s just one bad apple; it’s another bad apple.”

200 asylum-seeking children go missing – Tory MP says they should not have come to UK illegally

A new low: Jonathan Gullis (the unmasked bearded man in the background) [this is a stock image].

At Prime Minister’s Questions, Labour MP Tulip Siddiq drew attention to the fact that, despite the UK being considered a safe haven for vulnerable children, there are 200 unaccompanied asylum-seeking children missing from UK hotels.

Rishi Sunak’s comment that the government needs to end the use of hotels for unaccompanied children, “and that’s what government plans will do,” was sinister enough – he meant the plan to stop asylum-seekers from getting into the UK would ensure that fewer will be here in need of housing.

But from the backbenches, Tory MP Jonathan Gullis apparently shouted, “Well, they shouldn’t have come here illegally!”

That’s Compassionate Conservatism for you: let children go missing – kidnapped? Made into slaves for criminal gangs, for purposes that one flinches from considering? – because they should have stayed at home, possibly to be exploited in similar ways by their own countryfolk?

One can only agree with Peter Kyle: The Conservatives have found a new low.

Here’s the video clip:

And here’s Mr Kyle’s tweet:

Pre-teen children are being groomed to deal drugs. Are Tory service cuts to blame?

This report from Sky News might not be shocking if you know a few teenagers living near you:

Kids are being used to deal drugs. And some of them are going to be harmed or even killed because of it.

Whether the measures outlined in the report can help prevent this from happening, This Writer cannot predict.

But the fact that funding for children’s services has been cut by 75 per cent since the Conservatives came to power in 2010 is an indictment against Tory government.

Could this situation have been prevented if the Tories had not cut the funding?

Were the Tories told that this was a possible outcome of them doing so?

We already know (from Covid and from their attitude to state benefits) that it’s too much to hope that they would care.

Were these Ukrainian kids really performing Nazi salutes?

It’s an interesting discussion of support for Nazism in Ukraine.

My opinion? They could have been simply waving, but in a straight-armed, hand-up way.

Couldn’t they?
