David Cameron to U-turn on snooping on internet browsing histories

Last Updated: November 1, 2015By

How nice to see that This Writer will be able to protect Vox Political‘s sources.

And how commonplace to see coward Cameron running away from another confrontation.

But why should investigating MPs be a criminal offence? Tories like to say, “If you have nothing to fear, you have nothing to hide” – so what do they want to hide, that makes them so afraid of discovery?

David Cameron is to U-turn on hoovering up our online browsing histories, writes Nigel Nelson in the Sunday People .

The PM had planned to make internet service providers keep information on what we look at for a year in case police and MI5 were interested.

But in the face of a Lords rebellion the Government will back down when Home Secretary Theresa May unveils the snooper’s charter on Wednesday.

A Whitehall source confirmed: “Key parts of the original plans will be dropped.

“We need to reassure people new powers will only be used in a necessary, proportionate and accountable way.”

The new Investigatory Powers Bill will allow law enforcement agencies to see who contacted whom and when.

It will give them greater powers to catch terrorists, paedophiles and online fraudsters.

But plans to nab internet traffic from US companies and monitor overseas communications have also been dropped.

MI5, MI6 and GCHQ will still need a warrant to rummage through private data signed by a Cabinet minister or a judge.

And it will become an offence for them to spy on MPs.

Journalists will also get a new legal right to protect confidential sources.

Can we really believe them? They also say it will be an offense to spy on MPs. Does this cover MSPs, Welsh Assembly members or Northern Ireland’s Executive members?

I don’t care. I think our elected representatives should be monitored at all times!

If the voters growl loudly enough, this government back off.

Excuse me did i just read ‘powers to catch the pedophiles?’ Because i thought the security services were actively engaged in promoting the vile practice in order to blackmail politicians into doing what they want. Also hidding the offenders and disposing of evidence against royals, politicians, judges and the elite. Maybe there is a picture on the net of that swine Cameron with other swines. If you know what i mean?
