Malnutrition causing thousands of hospital admissions
More than 2,000 cases of patients with malnutrition were recorded by 43 hospital trusts in a single year.
There were 193 “episodes” of malnutrition in 12 months at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust alone, according to new figures.
Freedom of Information (FOI) figures show a rise of 259 between the 43 trusts compared with three years ago.
A food bank charity said it feared families were struggling to afford to feed themselves.
The government said that malnutrition was “unacceptable”.
Meanwhile, there are warnings that parents are going without food so their children do not go hungry.

the govt saying that malnutrition is unacceptable is a joke!!! when its them that
are causing it
We need more proper co-operative food shops – such as the people’s supermarket in london.
How sad and Pork face can spend millions having an RAF plane converted for his own personal use, sure we are all in it together.
Surely by now the electorate are all starting to realize what a mizzly crew are running the country.
The state of the economy could not be any worse and they can’t blame Labour so what is the answer one wonders.
I wouldn’t be surprised if people with malnutrition were sanctioned for unacceptable behaviour.
When I saw the government comment that malnutrition was “unacceptable”, that’s exactly what I thought.
The tories are causing this and they have the cheek to comment on it!
