Tory cheerleaders at BBC News get roasted by cartoonist Steve Bell
We’ve been saying it for many months now, and at last the Tory bias of BBC News is starting to get mainstream attention.
Will this prompt action from BBC chiefs? I doubt it.
But with the Conservative Government pushing hard for a vastly reduced BBC, it seems increasingly incongruous that the Corporation should react by offering to be a nationally-funded propaganda department for its persecutors.
Grow a backbone, Auntie!

I think the Beeb has probably been given the gypsies’ warning by the tories – support us, or we’ll close you down, or privatise you, which is much the same thing.
Just love Steve Bells cartoons. The “Toady” programme reference had me in stitches. About time The Guardian made its mind whether to echo the Govt line or be a serious reporter of unbiased news.
I cannot help but think that the predicament the BBC finds itself in with regards to its relationship to the government should be viewed as form of Finlandization. After all, what is happening in this case is that one political body seeks to absorb a smaller political body.
I think the option was do as you are told or you will be privatised.
because they dont want to put their control over BBC -Drctr General – in jeopardy ??..
