Charity gave half a million food parcels to kids last year
Remember that, in the (short) run-up to the next election.
Nearly half a million food parcels were handed to British children by a charity last year.
Official statistics show four million kids – a third of all youngsters – now live on the breadline, with child poverty at its highest level since 2010.
Experts warn another million will be forced into poverty in the next five years.
The number of parcels given to children by the Trussell Trust, Britain’s biggest food bank operator, has more than trebled in five years.

This is such a discrase child poverty on such a scale in a first world country one of the richest countrys in the world …..harbouring…..some of the richest people in the world … The shame and stigma of child poverty never leaves it stunts people but then this is something our government will know nothing about as most of them have been born into and with such….lavish…wealth ,oppertunitys and life chances wanting for nothing…..lucky lucky them
Nice one…..and there’s the UK sending our cash to support countries that have space programs and intent on war mongering. How long must the population have to watch this happening just for the ego of politicians. All I would ask that the amount be tailored to fixing our own in-house problems and then distribute the balance to just those extremely needy countries and famines etc. Paying to countries that have the means smacks of a covert giant brown envelope.
It is a shameful disgrace, but still working class people vote Tory. Why oh Why?
