How the Tories’ proposed boundary changes may mean they would never lose again – Mirror Online
Here’s the difference between a Conservative government and a Labour government, in a nutshell: The purpose of a Labour government is to ensure that conditions in the UK are most likely to create prosperity for the most people; the purpose of a Conservative government is to ensure that the Conservatives remain in government. And nothing else.
Now that they’re ruling a majority government the Tories are set to change the electoral boundaries to make sure they NEVER LEAVE

I heard Cameron backed down as his own MPs feared losing their seats.
The Nasty Party are little more than a bunch of slick crooks. Starting from the head snake oil salesman Cameron, through the tax-evader Osborne, the professional confidence trickster Shapps/Green &etc, down to the man who specializes in false accounting by falsifying invoices, E. Vaisey. Given the strength of feeling in the country, I can only hope their term does not run the full five years.
Tories are like kids in a playground, when they can’t win the game they change the rules:
When I was a child I lived in a Birmingham suburb and Thatcher changed the borders [to get more votes] and we suddenly lived in the Black Country.
My husband was born and raised in Lancashire, although you wouldn’t know it because its now Yorkshire.
My friend was born in Staffordshire [which now belongs to Shropshire]
Suffice to say, the Tory antics have been going on for some time now.
I lived in Birmingham too at that time and noticed it. i was only a kid but my parents house was in chelmsley wood, predominantly labour. but right next to snobby Solihull, Thatcher’s changes took half of chelmsley wood and classed it as solihull. that meant my parents vote no longer counted and solihull NIMBY’s could dump all its unwanted council projects on us
As I recall, no sooner had the Coalition been formed than the Tories tried to get the boundaries changed. However, (possibly one of the only things they stood their ground on) the Libdems voted against it.
Now, of course, having a majority, they are hell bent on getting their way in many areas; to the detriment of the people.
They will change the boundaries to suit themselves, and ensure they will win every future election, and consolidate their dictatorship.
What politicians want to create is irreversible change because when you leave office someone changes it back again. Estelle Morris
lets see how that works if their heads are on spikes
which, of course, might happen before the 5 years are up.
