Jeremy Corbyn supporters risk return to Labour splits of 1980s, says Burnham | Politics | The Guardian
Pot, kettle, black? And is anybody really interested in squabbling between the candidates? What about policies? Other than Corbyn, nobody else seems to have any.
Supporters of the Labour leadership candidate Jeremy Corbyn are playing a dangerous game by resorting to inflammatory language which risks a return to the splits and factionalism of the 1980s, Andy Burnham has said.
In a sign of the shadow cabinet’s deep concerns about the growing confidence of Corbyn’s supporters in the trade unions and in the party as a whole, the fellow candidate said “loud warnings” and alarm bells were starting to sound.

I quite agree with your comment Mike, and Burnham is obviously more interested in his own position than serving the party. I “would” have seconded Burnham but not now. Jeremy Corbyn is my favourite for a true Labour leader who is not seeking self-gain.
When the contest began Andy Burnham was my clear favourite but as it has gone on he has slipped down my list and Jeremy Corbyn has become firm favourite, mainly because he offers an alternative to the current government.
Seeing the pictures of him travelling home on the Tube the other night only strengthens the belief that he is a person of principles
Split the party? Corbyn is sitting on a massive lead, according to a poll in the Torygraph, 20 points ahead of his nearest challenger and he’s a very big favourite with the public and ordinary members of the party. If there is a split in the event Jeremy Corbyn wins it won’t be Corbyn’s fault; it will be the arrogant, entitled neolibs that are clinging desperately to their chosen career vehicle. The winner will be justified in reshaping the party in whatever way s/he feels best and the rest either get behind the new leader r bail out quietly, not stomping about like overgrown two year-olds, spitting dummies out.
Burnham and his like also ought to remember exactly what party they joined and stood for and gave them the huge privilege of lining their own pockets, making important business contacts and the certainty of a corporate job in the future…*.
They do not own Labour, they are there to represent people under the flag of Labour. If they don’t agree with Labour members, their political ideals and their choice of leader to represent those ideals then maybe they could consider crossing the floor and taking Chuka Umunna with them. Let them put their neoliberal tripe to their local electorates against genuine party members in the Corbyn mold. Let’s see how confidant they are in their true ideology.

Jeremy Corbyn has my vote the others should be in the tory party as far as I’m concerned.
Jeremy has struck a chord with me and my own thoughts and ideals. Burnham would have been my second choice. but the women? no way. learnt my lesson when thatcher got in. this in fighting has got to stop. its ridiculous and the only reason Corbyn followers are calling names is because we are disgusted with the other 3. they can call Corbyn names but not the other way around? they know what they can do now with their votes. i wont be voting for any of them. they are letting labour down with their carrying on. and blackening Jeremy’s name.
Corbyn is doing well because he is Labour and so appeals to true Labour voters and has a plan saying what needs to be done, the other 3 and the others like them are clueless and so trash him because they fear him and fear their comfortable jobs are coming to an end, the whole party should be purged and weed out the tory members of the party so only the true members remain, the party might have to start again but maybe that’s for the best so it can cleanse itself of all these Blairite/tory disease and be the real Labour party once again!
