Another fake-Labour Lord quits – good riddance
This one reckons he has nothing in common with Jeremy Corbyn. Corbyn became Labour leader because he has reconnected with people who share his traditional Labour values. So this one can’t hold Labour values and the Party is better-off without him.
His claim that Labour is no longer a credible opposition says everything you need to know; Labour is far more credible now than it has been since Tony Blair’s time.
Much has been made of claims that Corbyn followers want to launch a ‘purge’ of the Party, to rid it of right-wingers. It seems all they really have to do is wait – and they’ll leave of their own accord.
Lord Grabiner [who?] has become the second peer to abandon Labour’s benches in the House of Lords because of Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the party, saying “I can’t square [staying] with my conscience”.
His decision comes five days after former junior health minister Lord Warner resigned the Labour whip, saying it was no longer “a credible party of government-in-waiting”.
Explaining his decision, he said: “I have nothing in common whatever with Mr Corbyn – and I don’t believe we are ever going to win an election.”

The writing on the wall for right wingers! Shows how out of touch they are! They are more worried about loosing their kick backs than labour winning the next election! So they can all f@ck off.
The PLP old gaurd are another thing entirely, they will hang on with gritted teeth! They are organising through Progress, Labour First etc. “waiting” for them to leave is naive.
I’m always rather sceptical when I see “Lord” in front of a man’s name instead of “Mr.” but, of course there are many decent people in the House.
I automatically translate it as “Lard-arse”.

In July 2011, Grabiner was appointed by News Corporation as chairman of the management and standards committee established by the company in the wake of the News International phone hacking scandal.[7][8] It was subsequently reported in The Lawyer magazine that Grabiner would be receiving a fee of £3,000 an hour for his advice to News Corporation.

It’s the old association with this kind of Murdoch / Blair / trough feeder that has been so damaging to Labour. This particular specimen hasn’t even VOTED in the HoL since 2013,(while eligible to claim expenses). He obviously thinks his contribution to “democracy” can be achieved by shouting from the sidelines, and his views have weight and relevance to those who want to save the UK from the fascist drift of the Tories, just like the previous “Labour lord” who is up to his ears in private health companies. They are so deluded by money, lobbyists and corporate suck-up they think that WE are the enemy, and that the “little people” will meekly follow their lead!!!
As the saying goes, don’t let the door hit your a*se on the way out.
As he hasn’t voted at all for two years (despite claiming “expenses”) will anyone actually notice that he’s resigned the whip? He’s clearly been ignoring it for at least that long, so should have had it withdrawn (been ejected) anyway.
Of course, as a Murdoch man, he’s never really been a Labour supporter in the first place (just a supporter of the takeover of the Labour party by the filthy rich). And he’ll still have his snout in the trough – a characteristic which should worry him if he’s ever invited to dine with the PM (or maybe it won’t).
If he thinks he should resign the whip because he does believe in the party or it’s values then so be it, it’s probably the honourable thing to do. But as his peerage was gained through Labour patronage that should go as well.
