Tory MP’s filibuster blocks bill to give carers free hospital parking
A Conservative MP has blocked a proposed law to introduce free hospital parking for carers by speaking in the House of Commons for 93 minutes in order to use up the time allocated for the debate.
A private member’s bill brought forward by Julie Cooper, Labour MP for Burnley, set out a proposed exemption to hospital parking charges for carers. At the moment hospitals have discretionary powers to grant exemptions to parking charges.

good to see another Con liar showing his true colours and complete lack of any integrity. He was happy to pretend to support carers to get another bank of votes to get his low backside back into parliament but from his true actions now showing through the guy was actually a true Con. that did give a toss for carers. Another potential storm trooper recruit for Smiths SS mob having passed with flying colours on this one.
Evil rat in a suit.
Philip Davies MP, together with Tory MPs Christopher Chope, David Nuttall and Health Minister Alistair Burt, deliberately blocked a vote being taken on the Hospital Parking Charges Bill in a Private Member’s Bill debate, (put forward by Labour MP Julie Cooper), to give carers free parking at hospitals. Proof again that the Tories are the Nasty Party!
