Let’s celebrate what happened to DPAC’s Paula Peters on the London Underground!
Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell met disabled protesters at Parliament on Wednesday, to offer his support for their cause.
This is a terrific tale from Paula Peters, a member of Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) who was at the disabled people’s demonstration in Parliament on Wednesday:

A story to warm the heart. So much admiration for the DPAC campaigners.
just goes to show the media is causing hate crimes. Good on the passengers!!
If that’s an example of public opinion, perhaps the tide is turning.
It’s good the message and the support is finally getting through.
This actually brought seriously happy tears to my eyes! Paula is such an inspiration and to way more people than she would ever even realise..x
The tides are turning,
The media may still be pumping out and supporting the Tory view, but on the ground people ARE waking up, maybe far more than we realise because of the lack of media support and coverage etc…..
Yep, although you are always going to get people with bad attitudes (possibly mainly caused by them just choosing to automatically believe bad press), generally speaking, people are waking up and thanks to blogs like these and many others (along with social media), I think the tides are slowly turning.
How wonderful ! Have spread the news :)
This girl is a gem x
Totally fantastic. I have not a lot to smile about but this story hurts my jaw. I am still smiling and grinning while writing this. I have for some time had a strange feeling that something is going to happen to this vile scum silver spoon nazi government. Don’t know what, I cant shake it. Lets see.Thank you Paula.
wonderful story,as looby said maybe people are waking up at last,i sincerely hope so.
Well done her. What the Tories don’t get is that most people in this country are fair minded and don’t like it when people in need and facing extra struggles get dumped on. Cameron Osborne and Crabbe take note you’ve already COCed it up by attacking people with disabilities.
Most of us are friends with or at least know someone who is struggling and we won’t stand still while that are robbed.
Hunt hasn’t learned this lesson either in regards to the junior doctors. Fairness is at the core of most people’s thinking and we all highly value both our NHS and our doctors. I know the Tory inner circle despise both but they’ve misunderstood the electorate.
We WILL support our vulnerable and our doctors.
Such a lovely heartwarming story – let’s hope the tide is truly turning at last!
brill story its a pity its takeing so long for people to believe the torys are not for the ordinary people on the street what they have done to the disabled is out of order and the poor so every person sit up take notice and remember who not to vote for in may elections
paula and her mates doing whot many others should be doing but angels are they that show this corrupt government up jeff3
A really heartwarming story.
What a pity this didn’t get out on all of the tv news channels. Could agree more about the sentiments on Cameron and that wallpaper guy (Osborne?). Paula’s a brave woman. Anybody anything to say in favour of Thickie Nickie Morgan?
I’m glad she had a round of applause, but what I still don’t know is, ‘Did she make it onto the right train, and get back home?’.
Good for both Paula and the DPAC, beautifully written, congrats to her!
The disabled need someone like you to bat for them. The Tories are really implimenting their hunting policy but instead of pursuing the fox they are pursuing the disabled.
Bullyboy tactics of public schoolboys.
