David Cameron says he “stands by” his claim that Suliman Gani, a British citizen, supports terror group Islamic State – but still hasn’t provided any evidence to back it up.

Mr Gani firmly denies the accusation, made at Prime Minister’s Questions two weeks ago, as part of a vicious attack on the character of London Mayoral candidate Sadiq Khan.

The claim fell apart under the slightest scrutiny.

Over the last two weeks, Downing Street has tied itself in knots to avoid Mr Cameron having to make a humiliating retraction and apologise to Mr Gani and Mr Khan.

Their language has slipped from an unequivocal “this man supports IS”, to “I think all the speakers who appeared were committed to the creation of an Islamic State…It was reported at the time.”

Cameron is mental. He should be sectioned. Why is he allowed to utter such unsubstantiated accusations without being brought to book? Anyone else doing this would be arrested by Mr Plod pdq. Lets hope Zac Goldsmith mayoral ambition crashes in flames and Labour do well in local elections. Cameron would be a laughing stock beyond redemption in the Tory Party and we MAY just get rid of him. He is a hypocritical nasty piece of work whose legacy will be “I had it all and I f****d it up all by myself because I am basically a moron with no sense of morality, shame or empathy and I am therefore beyond redemption” . In my opinion of course! Others may feel differently.

It’s time that politicians were made to comply with the same laws on slander and libel that apply to the rest of us, and slanderers thrown out of the house until they retract.
This is a clear abuse of parliamentary privilege.

I’d chip in to a crowd fund appeal for Mr. Gani to sue Dave Cameron for slander and libel if appropriate. “Dave” made the accusation which is defamatory and could easily be proven a lie and therefore, constitutes an illegal action – something the Conservatives are getting rather good at.
