Crabb resigns as Work and Pensions Secretary
Isn’t it interesting that he went “in the best interest of [his] family” after having been a leadership contender himself?
Sure, there have been allegations about his private life – involving “sexting”, as This Writer understand it – but this could be a pretext. Perhaps he simply doesn’t want to work with Mrs May.
Would “sexting” have stopped him if he had been elected leader? It’s doubtful, isn’t it?
It would have been better if he had gone because he was a rotten work and pensions secretary, but we can’t have everything, it seems.
This was a man who thought homosexuality could be cured, and who thought people with progressive illnesses were capable of work.
He supported the bedroom tax and cuts in social security benefits.
He doesn’t have the best interests of UK citizens at heart.
It’s better that he be banished to the back benches.
Stephen Crabb has resigned as Work and Pensions Secretary following newspaper allegations about his private life.
New Prime Minister Theresa May is continuing to assemble her cabinet team.
Mr Crabb, MP for Preseli Pembrokeshire, who was promoted to the portfolio in March, resigned “in the best interests of my family”, he said.
Mr Crabb, who was one of several contenders for the Tory leadership who lost out to Mrs May, said: “Over the last two years I have had the huge privilege to serve in the Cabinet.
“After careful reflection I have informed the prime minister today that, in the best interests of my family, I cannot be part of her government at this time.
“I am grateful to my whole team for their hard work and encouragement. I look forward to supporting the government’s one nation vision from the backbenches.”

Jumping before being pushed?
We all know how Theresa dislikes people standing up to her, let alone the ‘crime’ of trying to have her job – She does like to hold a grudge that one!
but nowing to jump before he was pushed out of his job ops now we have another bent corrupt lot running the country t may how many more contracts to go her hubbys way oh dear oh dear jeff3
If you’re referring to the allegation that Mr May was a director of G4S, that has been categorically denied.
I have it on good authority from someone who knew her well back then that allegedly Leadsom has some interesting buried skeletons too. Is this why she gave it up so quickly?
A nasty piece of work, even by Tory nasty standards. I wonder if more scandal is round the corner.
Scuttled off! Haha!
Scuttled off is a wonderful way of putting it isn’t it. It conjures up a very amusing but indefinable picture in my mind.
i thought he might thank god he’s gone quickly he was a bit of a dark horse

Did I not run an article – or several – at the time?
you did indeed ‘i was just asking in case you had change your mind on him.
It could be because he’s found out that the department is in meltdown, and this is a perfect opportunity to jump ship.
I’ve turned 65, applied for my state pension months ago, and I’ve still not heard a thing from them. Rang them up over a week ago, only to be told that they haven’t even looked at it yet. Rang them again this week as I haven’t had a pension forecast, nor a payment date. I’m in limbo – It’s a total, total shambles.
So now what? Another Sadistic b*****d who likes to kick people when they are down and make sure they never recover from their illness by taking the food from their plates to weaken their bodies and treating them as sub human creatures to damage their minds or will the next head listen to the UN and return us to a nurturing welfare system which supports people through their illnesses and helps the unemployed find work. We will find out because the PIP assessments wil stop and all people waiting for their appeals will go back to their previous level of benefit instead of being punished for appealing by having their income reduced or removed.. They will also have to consider prosecuting ATTOS for breach of contract and abuse of position. Then there are investigations into abuse of power by decision makers who recently became omnipotent and decide the fate of the vulnerable like little Caesars with arbitrary thumbs up or down but mostly down. They know how this will possibly kill people and do it anyway.
I didn’t mention Crabb because he is an ineffective little toad of no consequence
