Corbyn critic spends night in Spanish cell after ‘alleged incident’
Remember when Simon Danczuk was the poster boy of right-wing Labour, and a vocal critic of Jeremy Corbyn?
When they fall, they fall hard – it seems.
Still, he wouldn’t be the first whose private life caused his decline.
It’s interesting to note that, according to this report, Mr Danczuk is still under suspension from the Labour Party, after more than seven months.
It’s interesting to observe that a right-winger has been suspended for so long while so many left-wingers who were suspended on suspicion of anti-Semitism are back on the fold, the allegations against them dismissed.
MP Simon Danczuk was arrested in Spain following an alleged incident involving his estranged wife, the BBC understands.
It is understood the 49-year-old spent the night in a police cell in Alicante.
The Rochdale MP was suspended by the Labour Party in December after he admitted sending lewd texts to a 17-year-old girl.
Mr Danczuk, who is separated from wife Karen Danczuk, was later released without charge, Spanish police said.
The Foreign Office said it was providing support to a British man detained by police in Spain.
The Labour Party refused to comment.

An unpleasant character in more ways then one.
Unfortunately Jess has been happily firing shots about misogyny and being a victim a little too freely. A cynical ploy being adopted by other MPs, who believe wasting police time and tax payers money is acceptable.
It is a classic “boy cries wolf” situation where her previous behaviour puts anything she says into doubt – a situation not helped by the lies told by Angela Eagle about attacks on her at meetings – where neither she nor the supposed protagonist were present, claims that she was barred from holding meetings at a hotel, lies about her office window being smashed and lies about police advice, that they unequivocally say they did not give.
All this on the back of faked death threats from Tory Lucy Phelps levelled at one of her constituents – for which there has been no action taken.
And just to muddy the water further we have had a number of MPs claiming they have been threatened and require police protection – which itself follows a pattern of claiming they are all victims of the evil Jeremy Corbyn.
Quite how a group of people elected to represent their constituents became so supposedly endangered is in a question in itself, but if we are to believe that this is genuine and the MPs are living in fear, then obviously something needs to be done.
Now every single one of these MPs has by vote or abstention agreed with the Tories that Austerity is the answer to everything – and i think they should apply this to themselves.
The general public are expected to “cut their cloth” according to their circumstances and if they need to need to buy something they regard as a necessity, they are required to give up something which might be regarded as a luxury.
Perhaps the cost of safe rooms and extra policing could be recovered by not furnishing second parliamentary homes quite so lavishly? Perhaps the subsidies at one of the many Commons bars and restaurants could be done away with?
The same MPs seem to have no qualms about cutting hospital beds for weapons systems – it is strange accounting, that we can be afforded one or the other, while they continue to take whatever extras they deem themselves worthy of.
