Corbyn is right to turn down hustings events due to concerns about bias
The tagline for the Huffington Post article quoted below is “Leaked emails reveal the Corbyn campaign’s paranoia” – but it isn’t paranoia, is it?
The Huffington Post itself has been briefing against Mr Corbyn for weeks and that line seems clearly calculated to increase discontent at the prospect of him retaining the Labour leadership.
The Mirror declared its support for Owen Smith very early on, and the Guardian claims impartiality – but This Writer pointed out four anti-Corbyn articles on its ‘Politics’ front page only a matter of days ago.
Then there’s the treatment of Corbyn supporter Billy Bragg by The Times… and subsequently the Mail, Express and Metro.
Sure, refusing to co-operate with these organisations is handing them a stick to beat him, but it would be far worse to attend one of their events – and be at their mercy.
Corbyn’s team is bringing intelligence back into politics. Of course it will be greeted with hostility.
Jeremy Corbyn is refusing to attend leadership hustings organised by the Mirror, New Statesman, Guardian or Channel Four as his team believe they are all biased against him.
In an email seen by the Huff Post UK, Corbyn’;s campaign director Jon Lansman accuses those four media outlets of taking “partisan positions against Jeremy’s leadership or campaign”;, adding they “therefore can’t be regarded as impartial hosts or moderators”.
His objections are part of a series of back-and-forth negotiations between Labour HQ and Corbyn’s campaign over how the leadership contest debates should be arranged.

Well Corbyn is right isn’t he.
If I can get a statement ‘exaggerated’ in an article on buzzfeed, where I never mentioned 1 or 2billion anything, I’m certain Corbyn would be pilloried by such MSM bias.
In case you’re wondering, I said half a billion, I checked my email to the author…

I, for one, am glad that Corbyn has the good sense to stay well clear of the MSM propagandist platforms. They don’t need a stick to beat him with, they’ve been doing that for a very long time without excuse.
If he doesn’t agree, then they can’t twist and manipulate or lie and misrepresent him in their disgusting editorials.
I apologise for this not being entirely relevant, but found this Mike, and thought you might be interested (unless you already know about it, of course):
