Reasons for Labour’s ‘party machine’ to be fearful: They WILL be held to account

Emily Thornberry’s accusations against members of Labour’s National Executive Committee won’t be forgotten in a hurry.
Many other party members and officers feel the same way – and they want those responsible for the pointless, divisive and distracting challenge to Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership to be held to account.
Perhaps the culprits think they’ll be safe if Owen Smith wins the leadership election. They won’t.
Even in that remote eventuality, the vestige of democracy remaining in the Labour Party will still be enough to end a few careers.

A key Jeremy Corbyn ally has accused members of Labour’s ruling body of “nakedly” trying to bring him down.
Emily Thornberry said National Executive Committee (NEC) members “disgusted” her by suggesting Mr Corbyn should need 51 MPs’ nominations to defend his position as leader.
And she called on Labour to unite around him to end “the chaos and distraction that this attempted coup against Jeremy has caused”.
The Shadow Foreign Secretary made her comments as she formally endorsed Mr Corbyn in his leadership contest against Owen Smith .
“Less than a year after Jeremy’s overwhelming victory, the party hierarchy – through decisions of the national executive committee – is attempting to overturn that result, quash Jeremy’s mandate, and put the party’s members back in their box,” she wrote.
“And they are doing so in the most naked way.
“I was disgusted to see the attempts to try to stop Jeremy from getting on the ballot.”
She also hit out at the NEC’s vote to bar 130,000 new members from the leadership contest – which was overturned by the High Court but then kept in place by the Court of Appeal.
Ms Thornberry accused deputy leader Tom Watson, who has accused “Trotsky entryists” of infiltrating the party, of “growling” that she was a “traitor” when she rebelled against 90-day detention for terror suspects in 2005.

I am sure that this will be spun by the Blairites as “Corbyn threatens Stalinist purge”. You see, when we aren’t Nazi storm-troopers, we are Trots and when we aren’t Trots we are Stalinists, but call Tom Watson and company “Blairites”, which they are, and that is apparently so insulting you can no longer be a member of the Labour Party.
I’m not sure accusing Corbyn of threatening a purge would go down very well at a time when the people who’d be doing the accusing are actually conducting a purge right now.

Please can you elaborate, i just cannot get it. ignorant?. not up with the news?
It’s a reference to the common practice in which MPs swap Westminster for the boardrooms of high-paying companies.
