Scaremongering: Jeremy Corbyn’s parliamentary seat ‘could be abolished’

Jeremy Corbyn: Not bothered.

Jeremy Corbyn: Not bothered.

How clever of the news media to point out that Jeremy Corbyn’s Parliamentary seat is one of those likely to be ‘reorganised’ into a different constituency.

I understand George Osborne faces the same situation.

Some anti-Corbyn readers may be enjoying the possibility that he will lose his seat. They should think again.

Mr Corbyn is extremely popular in his current Parliamentary constituency – he has increased his supporting vote at each general election since he first became MP for Islington North – and there is no reason to believe he will not be selected by the electorate there for any new constituency.

It seems the BBC is just trying to get a rise out of us. Silly news media.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s seat in Parliament could be abolished under proposals from the Boundary Commission for England.

Mr Corbyn represents the Islington North constituency in London, and much of it is expected to form part of a new Finsbury Park and Stoke Newington seat.

Mr Corbyn would be entitled to seek selection as Labour’s candidate.

Disgraceful “reporting” tonight on BBC’s Newsnight, conflating boundary changes, “rigged elections” within the LabourParty and Momentum “deselecting” MPs. (13th Sept) You would think the BBC had enough problems without indulging in this kind of nonsense ….. again!
