Tory plan for NHS England is working fine as ‘worst month ever’ is recorded at hospitals
And in his Budget, Philip Hammond offered £325 for the service-slashing ‘Sustainability and Transformation Plans’ that are set to ruin the English NHS even further. That’s something like two per cent of what is needed in a single year.
No wonder some people call him “The Undertaker”. No doubt he and his Tory chums think waiting times will improve after everybody waiting to be seen has died.
January was the worst month on record for hospital A&E departments, with more patients than ever waiting over four hours to be seen, official figures have revealed.
NHS England statistics showed 85.1 per cent of patients were seen in four hours or less – down from 86.2 per cent in December and below the Government’s target of 95 per cent.
Nearly 80,000 seriously ill patients spent more than four hours waiting on trolleys to be treated after being admitted to A&E, with an unprecedented 988 patients waiting on trolleys for longer than 12 hours.
The number of 12-hour trolley waits has jumped from 550 in December, while in January 2016, 158 people waited more than 12 hours for treatment. In January 2015, this number was 650.
There were 1.2 million visits to A&E in January.

Slash ‘n Burn…..that’s all these lame brains know. They live in their own selfish little La la land.
You are missing the pint Mike if you can’t work you are a useless waste of space so should be allowed to die quietly and relieve society of the drain you clearly are.
… in the opinion of Tory MPs, of course.
Derisory anyway and less than the amount fiddled from the BHS pension fund. NHS to be renamed BHS? And PS that £22m is rather dwarfed by the 22 BILLIONS in ‘efficiency savings’ already taking their toll.
I meant £22 billion.
May I just check your figures:
“I hear the NHS deficit – the difference between the funding the government supplies and what it needs – will be £22 million a year by 2020.
And in his Budget, Philip Hammond offered £325 for the service-slashing ‘Sustainability and Transformation Plans’ that are set to ruin the English NHS even further. That’s something like 2% of what is needed in a single year.”
I’m only guessing, but do you mean £22 billion and £325 million?
I do indeed. My apologies – and thanks for picking up on that.
