This couple have been fighting the Bedroom Tax for four years, and are only likely to get a reprieve from it because of a ruling in a court case brought by other victims of the unjust charge.

Is it any wonder people are suffering from mental illnesses because of the policies of our despotic Tory government?

A North East couple have welcomed news the Tory government has at last thrown in the towel in a bitter Bedroom Tax fight.

Seven judges in the Supreme Court found the tax – which deducts 14% of housing benefit for social tenants with a spare bedroom – “unlawfully discriminated” against disabled tenants who brought the case last November.

Ministers have finally confirmed all parents who need an extra room for their disabled child’s carer will be spared the disliked charge. They will also allow an extra room for all couples who cannot share a bedroom due to a physical disability.

They have rewritten the law to comply with the judgment which comes into effect on April 1.

Although not directly involved in the case, it means that after a four year struggle Ray O’Connor of Newcastle and his disabled wife Bridget can breathe a sigh of relief – but are taking nothing for granted until the new rules kick in.

Once again these low life specimens of human dross (Cons. that is) have had to be dragged screaming to the Courts to obtain what anyone with an minimum amount of common sense and compassion would see as grossly unfair. The whole concept of a bedroom tax is pathetic especially not having the flats and alternatives built or available to transfer folk into should they even want to downgrade. Who will rid us of these horrible people who may have even stolen their power by skullduggery with the election process and spending.
