Petition launched to provide free sanitary products in UK schools #PeriodPotential

Last Updated: March 20, 2017By

After reporting on the Tory economic persecution of girls that means many are missing school due to shame at being unable to afford sanitary products, This Site could hardly ignore a petition to put the issue right.

Children in the UK routinely miss school because they are unable to afford sanitary products, with some being absent for a week every month, as recently reported by the BBC. This will have an enormous effect on their education and their future job prospects.

A bill is about to go through the Scottish Parliament to make it a requirement for Scottish schools to provide free pads and tampons. We are calling on Theresa May and the UK Parliament to ensure this is the case UK wide.
