Of course the Tories have said Mr Corbyn’s £37 billion pledge to modernise the NHS – including £10 billion to upgrade IT systems and repair buildings – is nonsense.

They want you to think the money isn’t there while they siphon it off into the tax haven bank accounts of the rich.

Oh, by the way, Labour would end tax avoidance, too.

Announcing the funding in his speech to the RCN this morning, Mr Corbyn emphasized the stress caused to NHS staff by last week’s cyber attack – an attack that could have been avoided if the Conservative government had upgraded IT systems rather than giving tax breaks to its friends:

Labour says it will spend an extra £37bn on the NHS in England over the next five years if it wins power.

The investment, including £10bn on upgrading IT systems and repairing buildings, would be funded by tax increases and capital borrowing.

Jeremy Corbyn blamed the NHS cyber attack on “Tory cuts”, promising a service “fit for the modern day”.
