Now Theresa May is using FEAR to win the election
It isn’t quite martial law.
But Theresa May has put armed troops on British streets, claiming that the threat of terrorism justifies it.
Isn’t she simply trying to instill fear in you, so she can show what a “strong and stable” leader she says she is?
She has cynically perverted the attack at the Manchester Arena into a plan to win the election with a show of military force.
It has been said that Mrs May always wanted a Margaret Thatcher-style ‘Falklands’ moment. Now it seems she has engineered one.
It seems she has triggered Operation Temperer, a plan for troops to protect key sites like transport hubs, stadiums and key landmarks at times of high terror threat.
This plan was first formed in 2015 – after Mrs May, as Home Secretary, had decimated police forces across the country. Bear in mind that Mrs May was part of the Cameron government that believed every piece of state apparatus apart from the military and the judicial system should be privatised, including the police. The idea was to de-fund forces, wait for the system to break down, and then bring in private organisations like G4S – in the same way the NHS in England is being stealth-privatised by the same Conservatives.
Now, with 20,000 fewer police on our streets, Mrs May is using the threat of terror to put the army in their place and threaten us into voting for her.
She’ll be saying we need her “strong and stable” government (she took the line from Hitler’s Mein Kampf, by the way – apparently it’s on page 287 of the Kindle edition, if anybody wants to look it up), coupling the claim with an unsupportable threat that Jeremy Corbyn would be weak in response to a terror threat. All the evidence suggests he would be better than her – at least he wouldn’t use terrorism as an electioneering ploy.
The decision is a kick in the teeth for all those who worked hard to save lives in Manchester on Monday and Tuesday. Here’s why:

I know some people can’t read from images, so here’s what it says [boldings mine]:
“Just a quick observations Teresa (sic) May. The police that went into that building not knowing if there were more bombs inside, the police, ambulance services and fire services that were outside on the streets not knowing if there were bombs anywhere near them, the doctors and nurses that are still tending to the injured as you stood there singing their praises and telling the UK how valued they are. These are the people you are driving to food banks, nervous breakdowns, second jobs, suicide. These are the people you are driving away from the careers they love because they can’t cope with the working conditions and can’t live on the pay. These are the people that may not be in a position to help the next time some arsehole with a bomb decides to target innocents. While you are sorting everything else out in relation to this incident, sort out the pay and working conditions of the people who are still dealing with the worst while you are giving speeches.”
She never will, of course. Tories live to push down everybody else. They consider us to be “stock”, nothing more.
But if putting troops on the streets is a plan to win the election, then Mrs May has badly miscalculated.
The British public has already called “foul” on this dog’s dinner of a response:
May uses the army on the streets of UK to instill fear, implying without her decisive security action as PM; we will be at greater risk!

This is not the right response to the attacks. May using fear as a means of control. Don't let's fall for it.

The next one is from Samuel Miller, who lives in Canada – and shows how people in foreign countries are appraising the situation:
Did PM Theresa May place the country on the highest state of alert in order to win the general election?

Here’s a very important question, relating to the vigil in Albert Square, Manchester, yesterday (May 23) – when a huge crowd assembled in a public place, forming a tempting target if terrorists wanted to launch another attack:
If the threat level really is this critical why did authorities allow the vigil? PM scaremongering worse than s*n and daily mail! https://t.co/P7X7x7D9rK

Most of all, though, Mrs May’s deployment of the army indicates she is quite happy to use terror tactics on her own people.
We have no evidence that another terror attack is likely but she wants us to live in fear anyway – and she will concentrate that fear if she is allowed to remain as prime minister.
This Writer will not choose fear. I hope you will follow my example.
Vote Labour on June 8 – for sanity, for freedom from fear, and for hope against hate.

The pre election Falklands factor
I’m living in fear that she will win!!
Even though the lack of police is her fault!
I am terrified!!!
she will no doubt win the election if the armed troops are on the streets as will to many voters look like the country is at war and they will be fearful of change to another type of government so will vote tory
Not much you can do with a public that in many ways doesn’t even understand politics much less vote or follow it
corbyn will need to up his game ?
she wont win the election, corbyn has already up his game
Will they be able to do ‘stop and search’; will they be carrying ‘live’ ammunition?
If the answer to either is no, she has made our lives more dangerous by placing ‘military targets’ amongst us!
Though I doubt ‘we’ in our town will see any troops on the ground despite being surrounded by 3 garrisons!
If they are allowed to stop and search, will they be targeting Muslims on the off-chance they’re terrorists? Wouldn’t a bomber just wait until we’ve lowered our defences? There aren’t enough troops to be everywhere and what’s stopping them being extra victims of a savvy murderer?
If they’re carrying live ammo, the chances of an incident like the “blue on green” death of an innocent increase.
Am i being sceptical but is it not strange that this terrorist attack happens precisely at election time as was the case in France also this was a very well organised attack knew exactly where and at what time he would have the most impact , sounds all to perfect for my liking this was organised by a cold calculating figure .
I honestly believe this was not a false flag incident. If pre-event warnings were not acted upon or live surveillance or intelligence ignored to turn a blind eye then that would be a false flag. That would be so inconceivable as one can ignore the thought altogether…this is not USA yet. Whilst darkness abounds in high places not even the Cons have stooped so low as to sacrifice innocent lives for political opportunities.. Not withstanding this still does not make her a strong and stable person in the hour of need. RIP to all those innocents and music lovers.
Intelligence WAS ignored, apparently. The intelligence services knew who the bomber was and didn’t stop him at customs, when he arrived back in the UK two days before the attack.
Vigils allowed. But not campaigning. I wonder if political meetings will be banned as there will not be enough men with guns to keep us “safe”?
We are not a country that needs the army taking over our public spaces. We are a country that needs an ethical foreign policy. We are stronger united against any threat, but the declaration of sub-martial law will raise tension, not calm.
Looks like 9/11 or Falklands all this as been caused by the UK following the US murdering around the world and the UK following like a lap dog and its all come home to roost, as you sow you shall reap
I love how you praise the police and emergency services but then indulge conspiracism when it comes to the police requesting the army deployment and security services and other experts who think another attack may happen.
One lot of public servants = good, another lot = bad. Great logic, Mike.
Yes, my logic is impeccable.
The police had to request help because Theresa May has cut the number of police officers by 20,000. They had no choice.
SHE had a choice when she decided to make the cuts – and she was warned very clearly about the possible consequences.
She went ahead and made the cuts anyway.
And now she is taking advantage of the result to spread fear throughout the UK, in order to get people to vote for her.
Considering the speed with which May changed her mind about having a snap election must point toward a reason. It’s known that data on the NHS finances is being withheld by order of the Tories until after the election, but this alone may not dictate May’s election timing. Perhaps, and just perhaps, there is a more pressing agenda that may, as a result of the moratorium due to the bombing, be due to become public knowledge. This despicable terrorist act may well be the Tories undoing.
It would appear that MI5 thinks there is a further threat, it is after all they, not May, who increased the threat level to critical, which is their prerogative not May’s.
Yes, MI5 raised its terror threat level, which is a tool for security services and not for scaremongering by politicians.
They used to use religion to control the plebs now it’s fear.Sadly given the comments I’ve seen today it seems to be working. The hatred and lies being spread by the right wing press are being echoed on so many posts. Before this attack the momentum was with Corbyn and regaining that is going to be extremely difficult. For all our sakes I hope that it is possible.
Suicide bombers family allegedly are ISIS supporters. Fled Libya under Gadaffi and granted asylum in UK. Since fall of Gadaffi his father allegedly returned to Libya. Hmmm. Why was that? The family were known to security services. Yet, bomber returned to UK from Syria 2days before the bomb attack. Security services did not think he was a risk at that time. Why not? Seems that it was the best time to arrest him at the airport.
Conspirisy theorists will smell a rat here. Falklands moment? Sacrifice 22 innocent lives in order to seize political advantage. Our troops on streets. I feel sick.
Threat, what threat, the Queen is attending the Children’s Hospital as we speak, within sight of the bombing scene. So if her security intelligence says it’s OK, why are the politicians telling us to hide?
