Police say Grenfell death toll will not rise, but can anyone sense a stitch-up?

Can you provide official documents from the landlords of Grenfell Tower, that show exactly how many people were registered as residents on the night of the fire?
Can you provide evidence to show who wasn’t there?
Can you provide evidence identifying visitors that night?
Can you provide evidence to support your claim that it is wrong to say hundreds of people are still missing?
Early reports suggested as many as 600 people could have been in the tower when it burst into flames – why has that figure been almost halved? What is the evidence to support the change?
Without such evidence, the figures you have provided are just hot air.
This Writer fears that some unscrupulous people may be trying to mislead us all.
If evidence – preferably printed before the fire took place – does not appear to corroborate Scotland Yard’s claims, then there will be no reason to believe them.
The number of people who died in the Grenfell Tower fire will remain at about 80, police believe.
Scotland Yard said they believed 350 people were in the tower when fire ripped through it last month.
They said 255 people had survived and another 14 residents were not in their flats at the time of the blaze.
The figures were given at a press conference on Monday. Police said claims that hundreds were still missing were incorrect.
Grenfell Tower contained 129 flats, most of which were one- or two-bed properties.

I can’t see anything inherently wrong with what the Police have stated, the only way the figure could differ is if they find any bodies that were previously missed which isn’t likely to be many.
As you stated “Early reports suggested as many as 600 people could have been in the tower when it burst into flames”, I realise that people these days seem to think that words like could, may, might, perhaps means absolute but that is only because people seem to want the worst outcome. You could win the lottery if you buy a ticket but it doesn’t mean it is a certainty.
Perhaps the instant acceptance the the Police are lying without any evidence to support it should be considered as they are probably using information directly from the Fire service.
Why would the Fire Service have accurate information about the number of people living in Grenfell Tower at the time of the fire? They wouldn’t. Only the landlord would have that information.
As for whether there is anything inherently wrong with the police statement: The problem is that there is no supporting information to back up the claims. That is why the first line of the article was “Stuart Cundy, show your working”. The police need to demonstrate exactly how they reached their current figures.
Commander Stuart Cundy is head of the Special Enquiry Team at the Met. (SET led the investigation into Tower Hamlets election fraud, although before Cundy’s time.) SET takes over sensitive cases, especially where public figures are involved. The Tower Hamlets investigation is now being re-investigated. The first ‘investigation’ is being inspected by Her Majesty’s Inspector of Constabularies. The City of London police is now also investigating fraud in the town hall, presumably to get a more reliable outcome and yet another force is being brought in to re-investigate other unsatisfactory connected investigations.
If hundreds died at Grenfell this uncaring government will fall.
The fridge fire theory is suspect. Few fridges catch fire. The 4th floor taxi driver who raised the alarm about the fire in his flat has vanished. The reports that he packed his bags are very odd. Who does that unless it is premeditated?
Arson is suspected by some with racist and/or land value motives.
Commander Cundy promised to be open and transparent. Now that will be put to the test at Grenfell and also in Tower Hamlets. This ace trouble-shooter from The Yard is now very much in the spotlight.

It’s inconceivable that less than the occupancy of this building were present at the time, we have already seen reports that in some apartments many were meeting for religious reasons, while the number of ‘spurious’ stayers will also increase the permitted level of occupants. It seems, that the message is being distorted to decrease the toll by working on the lowest possible denominator. This is beginning to look like the same stealth tactics employed by our beloved government.
Ok……they are the police who should know by now how to conduct a thorough investigation. As stated it would be good if the same adjudicator of numbers did a reconciliation with the residents representatives who have supposedly done
their own head count. If that head count tallies up with the police investigation then at this point in time the count will have to be accepted as the best figure available. To be frank such a low number should be welcomed as better news than had been previously suggested. Any later major deviation from these latest estimated numbers will of course be calling the police political and moral integrity immediately into question.
After 9/11, all the debis was removed to a location off-site where forensic scientistics painstakingly searched for DNA matches from relatives amongst the undentifiable human remains. This allowed an accurate death toll to be determined. What is happening post Grenfell? If something similarvis taking place therevis a seafening silence about the process. There is also some obstrucation being put about that many of the “occupants” on the night were non residents who were immigrants from 3rd World countries where dental services and or records are non-existant. As a result they are, it is claimed, unlikely to be ever identified. No stone unturned eh? So now Police are dapening down expectations of an acceptable outcome from the Inquiry.
how many deaths will be put down to other causes? all about damage limitation be very surprised if we hear the full facts anytime soon.
