A Tribute Post For Bedroom Tax Campaigner Susan McLaughlin
Reposted from Same Difference:
Readers, I have very sad news to share with you today. The news of Bedroom Tax campaigner Susan McLaughlin’s death comes from reader, and her best friend, Maureen Anne Fitzsimmonds.
My thoughts at this very sad time are with all who knew Susan McLaughlin. In the disability community, the loss of one of our own always touches all of us- that’s just the way we are.
Sue was Sue, genuine lady with no pretence, no side to her. Not a shrinking wallflower and always there to help anyone. Made some lovely bread too which she did for tenants coming to appeal at surgeries. Nervous tenants.stressed, anxious tenants, ordinary people taking the step to do something about this pernicious life changing bedroom tax…the first person they saw when they came through the door was Sue and within two minutes they had a cuppa and some bread and were chatting away and at ease KNOWING they made the right decision to appeal and feeling totally at ease.
Lovely Joe Sue to a T.
