The issue isn’t quite as the Independent‘s headline (above) suggests, though.
Jess Phillips, the outspoken Labour MP, has refused to apologise for accusing David Cameron of “colluding with child abusers”.
The Birmingham Yardley MP is furious that the Government has decided against making sex and relationship education compulsory in all schools. Experts believe this education would help prevent children growing into abusers and committing domestic violence later in life.
Ms Phillips stated: “By blocking sex and relationship education David Cameron is colluding with child abusers.
She added: “This is benign neglect rather than malign neglect. I don’t think David Cameron wants children to be abused, but it is the same result. It’s neglect and collusion whether or not he means to do it.”

She has said what the rest of us are thinking. Good for her.
Perhaps ‘the rest of us’ ought to be writing to our MPs on this [and any other] subject. It would give them something to think about if their mailboxes were filled with constituents’ opinions… regardless of their party. They have to respond.
Give this man a medal
Who – David Cameron?
Jess Phillips isn’t a man.
i suggest that Ms Phillips would be better employed attacking the the law that MPs have
sneaked through Parliament saying that they cant be named if arrested by police.
i suspect that this has been brought in to hamper the the current child sex abuse investigations currently taking place, into MPs of all parties, but mostly Tories.and has got this sneaky governments fingerprints all over it.
i cant find out online what this law is called but would love to see the names of those voting for it.
I’m sure she can do both.

Great news,good for you Jess.
‘benign neglect’………what a load of cobblers! its the tory party once again accommodating religious half wits. its okay, but there is invariably a price to pay. in northern ireland, it was English soldiers lives that paid for tory dalliance with the unionist characters like Paisley…..in this case tory policy will facilitate the activities of child abusers in various forms of clerical drag.
