Could this be the worst party political broadcast ever?

Last Updated: May 12, 2014By

At last UKIP has some serious opposition in its bid to be ‘Comedy Political Party of the 21st Century’. I can’t wait to see the Monster Raving Loony broadcast, which – contradiction in terms though this may be! – would probably be much easier to take seriously.

I didn’t listen or watch most of it, because of the nasty sounding noise, they dare to call music!! It had too many Nazi-like undertones to it!!!

The style of music offended your precious sensibilities? lol – u funny. In which case… you have no opinion and no right to pass judgement. You have given up your right to be taken seriously ;) . I watched the whole thing and it was crap by a bunch of misguided nutjobs. If we got rid of migrant workers, the country would crumble.

Don’t attack other commenters, please! Keep your opinions to the subject matter. I’ve trashed your other comment as it seemed you were only interested in attacking someone else. I won’t put up with that here.

Its easily believed you just need to appreciate the inherent bigoted stupidity of their members -ive been arguing all night that we cornish are a breed apart, do not consider themselves english and that england ends at the tamar (rubbishing that dreadful song that was playing) -pretty sure slating someone over where they’re from isnt going to win their vote!

I noticed in the lyrics to the song playing in the background ‘From Land’s End to Hadrian’s Wall …’ So, standing in 100% English constituencies; except for Northumberland which, It would seem, they don’t class as English and is included in their plans?

I could Never understand bigotry, plus the makers of the add certainly have missed out on the “sex sells” concept, which is why in the beginning Ukip was popular because lots of incredibly Sad women with equally bad taste lusted (EW!!) after Robert Kilroy silk.

sorry just one or 2 point:
1 their logo defaces the St Georges cross (ie its off centre)
2 the tune celebrates an era when we sailed the seven seas. Is this the period when we subjugated a large portion of the world and pilfered their resources???
3 if they’re that patriotic why do they deny the queen the lands she reigns over (even if its more a tokenistic rule)
4 if they’re that against immigration then why do they feel patriotic to a family of immigrants anyway
5 I was actually expecting the tune to be England, England Uber Alles….

I expected John Cleese to appear doing a funny walk or. Mr.Bean with a tatty old bear riding in a beat up old Mini…It is worrying that these fringe parties are all basically fascists who smile a great deal….

This probably was the worst Party Political Broadcast ever seen on TV. To be quite honest I thought it was the BNP as I missed the start of it. English Democrats ?? never really heard of them.
However, they have been on TV, probably have been noticed and have given a similar message to that given by UKIP. As we know this kind of rhetoric regarding immigration and unemployment appeals to a good many people whether rightly or wrongly.
The underlying fact is that these parties have the ability to seriously undermine Labour as an alternatative to the Tories no matter how stupid their policies seem to be to people with some common sense.

The attacks on welfare, lack of jobs, lowering of living standards and general lack of trust in the main political parties has affected the working class more than ever. People want change and are now willing to listen to any crackpot who promises to deliver on the issues they see as important.

UKIP, being very selective in their policies, are gaining most of their votes from Labour. These English Democrats would do the same, as would the BNP and other fringe parties. Combined, they could make a serious challenge to Labour’s share of the vote.

Labour’s lack of any stand against the welfare reforms, mass immigration, cuts to legal aid, selling off of the NHS, their denouncement of the unions and selection of an almost entire middle class of MP’s has ripped their support to shreds and we should be worried about, rather than laughing at, these “crackpot fringe parties”.

The worst is yet to come. Come May 2015 we will have a Tory or Tory/UKIP government. Labour are as dead and buried as the Liberals as a serious challenge to the Tories and UKIP.

Party Political Broadcast? More like a group of soccer louts singing tribal songs and spoiling for trouble! And what’s all this about “the land of Saint George”? Saint George was a dark if not black-skinned fellow born in Lydda, which was then a part of Roman Palestine.

Oi! You English Democrats! Saint George weren’t no Englishman.

What a complete and utter bunch of slope-browed bozos!

Mike, I think you’re wrong – I think this IS a parody. Who is made to look bad as a result? Yup, UKIP.

Or maybe they ARE real, and they ARE standing in all constituencies. Who will they take most votes from? Yup, UKIP.

Anyway you look at it, UKIP are the ones who lose most from this bunch of hilariously bad clowns.

Hopefully the Scottish Democrats, if there are any are shall we say more evolved.

Well, looked at from another angle only BNP and unsavoury Tory-types would be inclined to vote for the English Democrats sapping the strength of the traditional Conservative Party and so helping Labour. For that: Thank you English Democrats!

You know, to a certain kind of person (not me!) it could be quite powerful. For some reason (good) I didn’t get sound although it was turned on on the pc. Without sound I realised that the backdrop to the (non-audible) soundtrack is some very powerful imaging. It’s full of concepts that many people connect with Englishness – the green-pocket-handkerchief countryside, punting in Oxbridge, and a serious concentration on the concept of an island defended by its seas. The standard of vid-filming is in places in the style of ‘auntie’s holiday snaps’ but maybe even that works too for the target group – familiarity. Which is what it’s all about – assume that the ‘norm’ of society is the rather better-off than average oxbridge graduated ‘county’ household and all this has the comforting ring of ‘normality’. So I assume that that’s their target group. And to them – the backdrop is full of comfort – in front of which is presumably a load of political stuff.

Well that’s certainly one way of looking at it (but it’s not one that I can recommend)!
