Phone Hacking Trial: Summing up, Coulson made no effort to inquire into extent of phone hacking at NoTW in 2004 – Martin Hickman
So Coulson’s phone hacker justified it by saying there was a public interest angle, but the story Coulson published did not contain any of that public-interest material, and publication took place after he had been made aware that the information had been gathered via phone hacking. Hmm.
This is a phone hacking trial and Coulson admitted knowledge of phone hacking to publish a “salacious story”. Hmm.
