Ask most people to name a right in the HRA they know and/or disagree with, they will struggle.
“Ah, but it only benefits terrorists, gypsies and criminals” they say.
What is not realised is that it is a human judge who decides on these cases, not Paul Dacre or Rupert Murdoch.
“How did we go on before the HRA” is another.
Well, it stops the victimisation against the disabled, transgenders and ethnic minorities for example.
