We have received a referral for a single parent with 3 kids. This lady was sanctioned for non-attendance at an appointment.
This is the referral we got from the agency supporting her.
******* is a vulnerable Lone Parent I have referred her previously due to mix up with child tax credits.She has 3 children youngest Son just discharged from hospital pass out at home Has had surgery to remove brain tumour and stent fitted. ******* failed to attend Job Centre when Son was in hospital, I am working with Job Centre to get benefit sanction resolved, in meantime access to foodbank would allieviate some stress for this Family.

benefit sanctions will ultimately create more crime, and fear for tory voters. they are all cowards in not admitting it to friends but they will be the identified victims for muggings by those who are sanctioned by the DWP. they will get their karmic effect when they or their fsmily members are burgled by the poor. dont say you tory voters havent been warned. its simple extrapolation of historical occurrences.

This is truly appalling. The short-sighted jobsworth who rubber-stamped this sanction, how does he/she sleep at night?

This just shows how callous and selfish the tories are. For to miss an appointment as a child is very ill is should be excused. It’s utterly appalling to do this and cause even more misery for the family.
This could all be solved by introducing the Universal Basic Income!

The job of the people is to take care of their Country, and it’s the job of that country to take care of its PEOPLE, and how you do that, is by taking care of those that have the least’ ” first” if we don’t do that, we have failed as a country and as a nation !
