Rejection of Tony Blair’s call for ‘proper ground war’ against Isis is right – but air strikes are still taking place

Wonder of wonders, David Cameron has actually done something right.

What a shame he won’t row back on his plan to radicalise more people from Iraq and Syria against the UK by bombing them from the air.

That is what will happen, you see. It’s all part of the ‘cycle of hate’ – also known as the ‘cycle of international stupidity’.

We bomb them; they get angry; they get radicalised into organisations like Daesh (named Isis in the report below); we sell those organisations weapons and ammunition; they use those weapons against us. Then we bomb them again.

To people like David Cameron and Tony Blair, sales of weapons and ammunition are worth more than the lives of UK citizens.

The answer is not to bomb indiscriminately but to launch intelligence-led, targeted strikes – to remove the organisation’s leaders and take away its weapons, as Jeremy Corbyn argued last year.

But neither Cameron nor Blair want that to happen. Oh no – that might lead to peace.

David Cameron has rejected Tony Blair’s call to commit ground troops to the battle against Isis.

The Prime Minister insisted the UK had the “right policy” of participating in air strikes against Isis in Iraq and Syria while offering support to fighters on the ground.

Mr Cameron acknowledged the strategy would “take time” to bear fruit and said the decision by Western nations not to send in ground troops made the fight against Isis more difficult.

However, he rejected Mr Blair’s suggestion the Government had not been honest with voters about what would be needed to defeat the Islamist terror group.

What? Has this millionaire waster now got a covert contract with arms manufacturers tucked in his wallet? The manufacturers who supply the killing machines seem to be the big winners in all this carnage.

Just stop selling armaments. It is as easy as that.
