This message is typical of Brexit supporters, but the UK is still leaving the EU [STRONG LANGUAGE]
Most of the messages on the social media, by people who support Brexit, are as belligerent, illiterate and nonsensical as this:
to be fair this is more persuasive and level-headed than some articles I've read in the Daily Mail pic.twitter.com/ZFqfBhx5C3
— Owen Jones (@OwenJones84) January 6, 2018
This is the level of the argument.
Remainers say: “Brexit will be hugely harmful to the UK because of these reasons…” and reel off however many they can remember off the top of their heads.
Leavers respond: “Democratic vote! A whole quarter of the population want to leave the corrupt EU and we’re taking everyone else with us whether you agree or not! It doesn’t matter if the Leave campaign lied to you – you voted for it and it’s too late now! Remoaners! If we get a bad deal it’s because of Remoners (sic) even though they’re nothing to do with the negotiations! Remoners have low intellgence (sic) they cannot undetstand (sic) DEMOCRACY!” And they swear a lot.
But the referendum was influenced by lies.
And Brexit will harm the UK – not because of “remoners” but because it can’t do anything else.
But we’re still leaving the EU because of people like the person who posted the message above.
Insanity.

It is clear from many posts I have seen that large numbers of Brexiters don’t understand the first thing about the workings of the EU and the European Parliament, and all their information comes from the dishonest right-wing press, such as the Daily Express, Daily Mail, Sun and the Telegraph – the proprietors of which have their own personal selfish and self-serving interests in Brexit.
So Mike what your saying is it’s only brexiteers are belligerent illiterate and nonsensical. Well done your really going to get people to change their minds with this nonsensical article.
I applaud all the time and effort you put in fighting the Tories, but when it comes to Brexit, I think your tunnel vision to remain is a bit warped.
Yes there is a faction of hard core brexiteers, but there’s also people who voted for brexit, without it being hardcore.
I believe you could put as many remainers tweets being nasty and arrogant.
Labelling people as all the same is a sure fire way of keeping the division.
https://www.politicshome.com/news/uk/foreign-affairs/brexit/news/91867/snp-chief-brands-jeremy-corbyn-utterly-pathetic-over
If you read this article Corbyn’s response was reasonable.
Then you have the diehard remainers saying Corbyn is being utterly pathetic, why because he doesn’t agree with them, and this is off politicians, it’s no wonder there’s abuse online.
The thing is, I don’t have tunnel vision about remaining in the EU.
As all long-term readers of This Site are well aware, at first I accepted the referendum result. It was only after more than a year of failure from those who were supposed to be ensuring Brexit would be a success that I gave up on it.
I have never said what you ascribe to me – YOU said that about me and it is a lie. Concentrate on what you want to say, rather than making up lies about me, please; all you have done is reinforce negativity about Brexiters, as they have to lie to undermine their opponents.
I don’t think I could find many Remained tweets on the same line as the one I quoted. We have to be reasoned in our arguments, otherwise we give ammunition to the irrationals.
First of all I haven’t called you a liar Mike,
I have said you have tunnel vision when it comes to brexit, and by your response well, you don’t like criticism.
All the best Mike with your fight against the Tories.
I don’t mind criticism. From your response, it seems more likely that you don’t like your comments being exposed for what they are.
Anyway, I shan’t enter into any further correspondence about this as I can see it may become very time-consuming.
Saw that. i am sure i answered it too,. stupid sods. when there are Nurses/Drs/Lawyers/ and others in top jobs all against leaving the EU. how do those people saying these things, think these others got those jobs? they didn’t simply walk into them.. they had to have several GCSE’s and A levels, just to get on to the university courses. you cant do that if you are illiterate and unintelligent.THEN DO 5 YEARS TRAINING AND MORE IF YOU WANTED TO SPECIALISE. SOME MAKE IT SOME DONT. Even back in my day in 1959 i had to take an entrance exam equivalent to that which says you have a high IQ…. even then you couldn’t just say i wanna be a nurse and get the job, several interviews and that exam later you might if your lucky get in to nurse or dr training school. another girl who went to school with me passed her 11 plus, went to the girls high school while i went to secondary modern. she did not pass that entrance exam while i did. depends on how nervous you are to be honest. nothing to do with intelligence.
I like the cut of his jib, this chap sure knows his stuff, Eaton no doubt.
Yes. Certainly not Eton.
