When is a Valentine not a Valentine?
Look at the state of what the Work and Pensions press office sent out yesterday:
Claiming to be living alone is one of the most common types of benefit fraud – don’t ruin #ValentinesDay by failing to declare your true circumstances https://t.co/tZuNYZ5fer pic.twitter.com/ahutOO6NUy
— Department for Work and Pensions (@DWPgovuk) February 13, 2018
How threatening is that?
Very threatening, as a horde of respondents have made clear.
So – to brighten your Valentine’s Day and darken that of the DWP, including and especially its Secretary of State – here are a few of those responses.
Lovely to know that Work and Pensions Secretary Esther McVey's department has decided to celebrate Valentine's Day by threatening couples with jail. Tells you all you need to know about the Tories. #ToriesOut https://t.co/PkdKmssvC4

Now think of the families you've torn apart re pushing people to suicide who 'are' living alone because of you! I've seen some vile crap on Twitter in my time, but this? Are you trying to push the survivors over the edge now, too? Silly girl, just answered my own question.

Not to mention those who died while waiting for their 'fit to work' predictable reversed decisions, and that it's their bereaved partners now alone who get the letter telling them they died for nothing! @MidWalesMike @SoniaPoulton @MattTurner4L @PeterStefanovi2 @KeithCameron5 https://t.co/v9qnq4AWgb

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
We're The DWP
And we're threatening you #ValentinesDay https://t.co/qI3tvqSZaY— GC (@CaptainSaltire) February 13, 2018
This is just incredible.Having been a minister I know this press release would have had 2 be approved by a minister https://t.co/njrSGqxE5s

So cynical. So judgemental. So threatening. Despite overwhelming evidence that the DWP is, in fact, depriving thousands of people of their rightful benefits through mendacious sanctions & bureaucratic incompetence, the dept still feels justified in this sort of shaming PR stunt.

This tweet links to The Daily Express. UK government department working in tandem with a vicious and nasty gutter press tabloid. https://t.co/6atI4bLXa0

The DWP sends a “Valentine”to claimants which has anything but a good wish and certainly no love in it! The heartless treatment of the disabled and PIP assessments which are designed to take away support instead of giving it! The Tories are seeking to take away free school meals from kids whose parents are on Universal Credit. These are welfare policies of a Tory government who have not a shred of compassion or concern for the vulnerable or poorest families.
The most common type of benefit fraud is perpetrated by rich Tories who hide their wealth off-shore
Who are the 166 sick bastards who “like” this tweet ?
Some of them might be people like me who press the ‘like’ button so we have easy access to the tweet.
Obviously a product of Fester McVile’s toxic mind. Hopefully if JC gains power he’ll carry out the threat he made quite a while ago to split the DWP back into to Ministries of Pensions and Employment.
I don’t do Twitter and don’t really understand how it works. Who was this sent to or is it just a general tweet on their own page? Not that it makes it any less disgusting whatever the method.
General tweet to followers – but you’re exactly right, it’s disgusting.
Nothing unusual from DWPARASITES
Benefit fraudsters? The worst offenders? Yes the wealthy, privileged, pontificating elite who wield the sticks and carrots! Not just ‘offshore’ either! Onshore as well! Don’t forget the ‘duck-house’ and a myriad other scheming little thefts like ‘underpants’ and breakfast!
