Warning for Boris Johnson: His violent Brexit rhetoric risks ruining Britain’s reputation | The Independent

Last Updated: March 8, 2018By

Mr Johnson won’t pay any attention to this at all.

He doesn’t care about the British people – his failure over Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe demonstrates that amply.

He doesn’t care about Theresa May – his continued failure to say the right thing amply demonstrates that.

He doesn’t care about foreigners – his continual insults make that clear.

He only cares about himself. In that, he is a fairly typical Tory. Judge him by his actions.

A cross-party group of British MEPs has warned Boris Johnson that he and other Brexiteers risk undermining negotiations with the EU and ruining Britain’s image abroad with their repeated use of violent war imagery when talking about Brexit.

The Foreign Secretary has been sent a letter, seen by The Independent, from 20 British MEPs in six different parties, including Mr Johnson’s own. They argue that the casual use of the language of “war and conflict” to describe talks with the UK’s allies is “dangerous”, undermines negotiations and does “not promote an image of a deep and special relationship, but a hostile one”.

Criticising “the language used by many senior politicians and much of the press”, the MEPs single out “terms such as ‘war cabinet’, ‘punishment’, ‘demands’, ‘blackmail’ and similar” – some of which have been used by the Foreign Secretary himself.

wow we have a good image abroad, that’s news to me, still what can we do well we could bring out the pretty red bus of lies, ship boris and his cohorts on them, they could tour Syria, Afghanistan, yemen, Iraq, lybya, then argentina, boris would probably borrow top gears Falklands plate knowing how suttle he is and then they could wind it up with a tour of Russia and maybe if they still exist a holiday vacation in a gulag, now if I was not taking the mick, how bad does it show that this is what I think

He should be locked up, gagged and in a straight jacket

What a horrendous buffoon to have as a Foreign Secretary just when you need the best. Like some Colonel Blimp

(Those cartoons are frikken good. Read them and they would be relevant and spot on today.Like history never changes)

Got a picture of a Noah’s Ark that has crashed and holed and leaky at the bottom. Obviously a reference to an economic crash at the time. Water rushing in and sinking, yet the captains and men insist on building and repainting the top and exterior as the bottom rots waters rush in and it sinks. So relevant.

The bulbous blind Britain Rah Rah of Colonel Blimp and attitude to America and Europe and swathing stupid comments is Boris to a T.

Johnson is a selfish, self-centred and extremely nasty buffoon. He mistakes an expensive private education for intelligence.

His style, presentation and reputation are so bad that I tend to suspect anything he suggests. Yet, when I think about it, a Garden Bridge , in the right place and managed to benefit the many, not the few, would be a very good idea for London. And a bridge over the Channel to France, another Boris idea, would also be a good idea. Perfectly feasible financially and in engineering terms. But now it is associated with Boris, the idea will die of ridicule.

King Croesus turned all he touched to gold. Boris turns all he imagines to something much less pleasant!
