Labour ‘defectives’ had been facing suspension by the party
Labour: The party must be better-off without these people. Right?
The Tories were crowing, earlier this week, when two Labour councillors defected to their party.
Chris Baron and Lee Anderson quit after Jennie Formby took over as the party’s general secretary, on the grounds that Labour was being taken over by the hard Left.
Evidence has since been revealed that one councillor’s Labour membership had been suspended and the other was in danger of suspension – Mr Baron for failing to turn up to council meetings, and Mr Anderson over allegations of racism, it seems. He had previously had a suspension for hiring a digger and placing concrete blocks to stop travellers illegally camping in a car park.
Mr Anderson had been Shadow Justice Minister Gloria de Piero’s office manager and – amazingly – it seems she is continuing to employ him. Isn’t that a danger to party security?
So apparently the two Labour councillors that joined the Tories were suspended for racism and not attending council meetings. They’re absolutely perfect for the Tories 🐸☕️

The two @UKLabour councillors who defected to the Tories that Theresa May boasted about at #PMQs are currently suspended. One for alleged racism, and the other for a paltry 44% attendance record. Given that, I'm sure they'll feel much more at home in the @Conservatives.

A pair of Labour councillors defected to the Tories and now Brandon Lewis and his halfwitted pals are crowing. What they and the #BBC fail to mention is that one was suspended for racism and the other was facing suspension for not turning up to council meetings.

Owen smith has every right to campaign to re-join the EU…..After we have left. Just as those who wanted to leave campaigned when we were in. To do it during the process of leaving is wrong and is only muddying already murky waters. THIS COMMENT HAS BEEN DELETED 4 times this morning.
